Mine was a Mobile Sonic Game (Dash, Dash 2, or Sonic 1, Sonic 2), I do not remember the name but That was my first Sonic Experience. -

I use to watch the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon everyday before school, once my brother got a Sega Genesis, Sonic 2 was the first game I've played. Enjoyed the series ever since and each game I've played, even enjoyed some of the less popular games in the series I've played. I would even say Sonic 1 is one of my most played games (played it a lot between GameCube, GBA, 3DS, and other systems I have), though I first played it much later on. -

I loved that show as a kid! I never knew what time it was on or what channel though so I'd always find it by accident. -

I used to watch SatAM on Nickelodeon at my nanny's when I was 4 (1992-1993). Later I recieved a used genesis from one of my mom's friends which came with Sonic 1. -

SatAM was awesome. I never did know when it was on though and my main exposure to the cartoons was AOSTH. Also good but not as good. haha -

Got bored, so I decided to register on here. This place is pretty quiet, but Sonic 2 movie spoilers are so difficult to avoid, so I'll camp out here for a week. My name is Nymphia!
I first got into Sonic when Black Knight came out, and I've been following the series ever since then. The fanart feature on the disc of Black Knight made me get into drawing - I wanted to be a really good artist as a kid - and as I've gone on I think Sonic and co. have become less of aesthetic icons and more of "good friends" I draw whenever I'm stressed or bored. Pink is my favorite color; therefore Amy is my favorite character! I drew the picture of her you see below. I think as I've grown up my values have aligned more with hers, but I also heavily relate to Tails as well.
I can't say I'm not a huge fan, but my feelings towards the fanbase are mixed, and I think it's difficult for me to align myself with a certain in-group. I have a group of artist friends and we talk Sonic extensively, but I'd like to branch out and meet other people! I would like if this forum could get more lively as I use it, so I'm leaving notifications on for this post - feel free to say hello to me or tell me your experience with Sonic!
Overall, the Sonic series is a big comfort for me - it's like home - so sorry if I get very sentimental about it. I know it's pretty pathetic, but it's nice to meet everyone in advance! Ciao! -

Welcome to the forum! That's a good drawing! We are pretty chill here, no "in-groups" really, just fans of the series that like to chat about it and such.
I know what you mean about it being like home. It always brings back that feeling I had as a child playing it that I don't get pretty much anywhere else and brings back that feeling of childhood imagination that kinda leaves as you get older. It's hard to explain. -

I’ve been a fan since pretty much the day I became able to pick up a Genesis controller! Sonic 1 and 2 were some of the very first video games I ever played, and Sonic CD was the first game I was really obsessed with and was the one that really captured my imagination as a youngin. The soundtrack, the art, the gameplay, the awesome FMV intro - I was very much obsessed after that, haha. Couldn’t begin to guess exactly how many hours I sunk into the GameCube ports of Adventure 1 and 2 once those came around, but rest assured it’s somewhere between “too many” and “way too many.”
In terms of the actual fandom, I’m really only now actively joining it. Kinda dropped the franchise entirely as a teenager and only rekindled my love for the series rather recently, but I’ve been having a great time rediscovering it all! -

It took me too long to figure out you could put other sonic games on s&k too.
....Well, to tell y'all the truth it was AoSTH too that did it, but MAINLY this little gem. Didn't know about the "Lock-On" feature until some years later, like...2002 or so. Sonic 3&K became my favorite game from that moment on.
