SRB2 Server ideas?

  The server is running now and will stay that way for how long the month remains (billed).
  
  If you got any ideas into how to configure or reasons for the mentioned issues, we would be glad to learn !

  It seems for some reason it got bugged, I had to finish the process and start a new one from terminal.
  
  I have no idea why it got bugged, though, so I assume some random supervision is necessary if we want any server to be up continuously.
  
  I did download and place some mods into the correct directory, and they appear in the game mod list, but I'm unsure how to apply or force these mods into the current server.
  
  Any feedback would be welcome, if you catch any misconfiguration or know how to set a server from Ubuntu.
  
  Feel free to play on the server, even if you know nothing about how to configure it, though !

  Unfortunately, I don't know much about hosting dedicated servers, apart from what I've read on the wiki. Which launcher are you using? This one seems to have a setting which allows you to select addons which will automatically load when the server or game starts.

  Oh, it's up already? Then I guess I'll have to rearrange some plans... if you're planning to add in mods, the only request I could make in that regard would be allowing E-102 Gamma, and maybe SA-Sonic, those two are genuinely solid characters and I believe others would have fun with them as well.
  
  Sadly, no, I don't know much about troubleshooting servers... it's something I'm yet to learn, if I ever hope to make a mmo-styled web game like Club Penguin... as of right now, though, that's just a dream, so don't worry about it too much.

  The server seems to be up still, the bill is due, but it doesn't seem like any resources were used at all.
  
  But it seems to me that it wasn't used that much. I think it might be better to schedule community-wide playtimes and set up the server at these times. Consistency would be key for this to work, at least consistency on the schedule and set up regardless of quantity of users.
  
  Setting up the server could be as quick as 5 or fewer minutes, so there might be some leverage so that whoever sets the server doesn't require staying the whole game play.

  This is the one I did try to configure, but because a VPS lacks a GUI it seems rather complicate to set using VNC. I will attempt to configure from the terminal next time I reinstall or reset the server.

  Because we can't control the amount of players, the aim here would be to schedule times when somebody will make sure the server is ready for play, regardless of the configurer joining or not.
  
  I could handle that using a VPS, it is cheap and seems to be enough for this usage as of now at least.
  
  Maybe we could poll around to get the best time spans during the week to schedule playtimes.

  I just put it back on, I think I will rebuild the server soon, but will keep the same IP.
