I used to play the original release of Sonic World, before Release 10, and its a fangame I hold near and dear to my heart for being one of, if not my first Sonic fangame I've played outside of Flash games. It was all kinds of jank but it was a prime example of quantity over quality, tons of stages and characters from all over the Sonic games, along with mod support. It was a Sonic fan's dream!
... Even though back then I barely knew any of the other character's names and had no idea who like 85% of the playable characters were...
Anyways, years later, Sonic World DX comes out, a current work-in-progress meant to polish up many of original Sonic World's issues (of which there were a lot). And right now they barely have as many characters and levels, but the gameplay is phenomenal, and is actually what got me so interested in doing Score-Attack runs in other Sonic games, this one is actually kind of tough to get S-Ranks on.
Nothing more to add. Just diversifying the selection even more.

I'm somewhat stumped for Score Attack runs aside from maybe trying for highscores in the Mech stages in SA2, bcuz I know there's a lot of tech and oddities with the Mech stages; SA2 in general would be fun for score runs bcuz it's not smth ppl really do in the game and would give me a reason to try smth new. the Genesis games would be good to for Score Attack runs too now that I think abt it... I haven't gotten very good at Rush unfortunately so my score runs would be pretty embarrassing

Honestly, I definitely feel like this one could have been done way better, I slacked off specially at Lap 3, but we've been too long without Riders.
Though this track really got me wondering if I was going the right route, it definitely feels way more open with how you can run through it.

Another thing I want to point out is these rails here at the two bridges. I remember seeing how it's actually faster to fall off the first and just drift on that U-turn, though I'll have to experiment with that.

Dunno why I left this one lying around for so long, honestly. I really like this run.
It also showcases something I love about Advance 2, being much a run can change depending on your character. Siccing Cheese on enemies sounds bad since it slows you down, but it's a good enough trade instead since you'll have to either maneuver around them or slow down when hitting them anyways.

The different trick trajectories also helps. The weird angle of Cream's lets you just go in-between this Swing Bar and Item Capsule around 45 seconds into the run. Intentionally missing out on the Swing Bar and Electric Shield and hitting the passivity-trap spring to do so is also why I like this game so much. Sometimes you gotta go weird with your routes for the fastest one.
Really, this game breaks a lot of 2D Sonic conventions. I have to instinctively stop myself from rolling down hills since you can only enter Boost Mode while running for long enough. It's quite the unique experience and weirdly reminiscent of the future Boost games. And hey, Dimps went on to develop Sonic Rush which birthed the Boost formula, so that's just the Dimps style at the time, I suppose.

I could talk abt how fun this game is from a casual standpoint, since Robotnik Coaster is the only stage I feel confident enough in to TA but managing your resources and drifting gives me the same feeling I get when I play Riders so it's really funny honestly

I prefer my games well after everyone's forgotten about them. A byproduct of being obsessed with old obscure games since youth, I assume.
Though I actually play the original SRB2K a lot so it would be fun transferring my skills from that game to this brand-spanking-new racer... specially now that I have competition.
And say, new game means we have less resources for it and thus more opportunity to find stuff for ourselves... yeeeeeeeeeee...
