  I feel this was out of nowhere but first Nintendo, then Sega, then SNK, now Sony are doing retro mini consoles. So far we know of 5 titles: Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms. Total will be 20. All very good games, the big surprise here is Tekken 3. It was never rereleased due to licensing issues(Gon was stopping it). What classic games are you hoping for? I think they HAVE to put WipEout, Metal Gear Solid, Twisted Metal 2, Crash, Spyro, and Resident Evil. Unfortunately with no dual shock it means some games will be impossible so no Ape Escape.

  I think it's cool. I already have Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3 and Final Fantasy VII, but it would good to play those games in HD. Other games I hope will be on the PlayStation classic are Castlevania Symphony of the Night, the first two Tony Hawks Skateboarding games and Street Fighter Alpha 3.

  This just says that what we old people grew up with was never meant to disappear completely, rather just remade. Can't say I'll ever pick this up, but it's a nice thing to have for anyone who missed out on the classic Playstation. 
  Out of all the consoles, I bet there's but one who won't show around in a mini version. I could be wrong, but I never see Microsoft going back in time. I wish they'd make a Sega Master system though as well, the one before the Genesis. As that system even if it was outnumbered by NES, it still had a really good selection of games.

  They may have made it popular but they just copied other companies that made mini plug n play consoles already. They marketed it better because those small companies don’t have the resources that Nintendo does.
  
  Honestly it’s much worse than the PlayStation TV which plays PS1, PSP, and Vita games. Also PS4 games via remote play. But that failed whereas this will surely be a huge hit because nostalgia.

  Or ya know offering a better selection for their BC titles. I love the PS2 games they released on PS4 but they only have like 20 or 30. These devices really aren’t for people like us though. They sell to lapsed gamers who haven’t played games since then. Hardcore gamers will just buy an actual PlayStation or SNES.

  If it has Door to Phantomile and Spider-Man 2000, it'll be a day one buy for me.
  Of course Spider-Man may be a bit tricky since licensing is a big ol' pain in the ass.
