So far E3 has been pretty bad. Last decent one was 2018 and that wasn't great by any means. Maybe Nintendo can make up for the lackluster. -

The problem with Microsoft is it was mostly multiplatform games that will release elsewhere or CGI trailers. I can't get hyped for CGI trailers.
BUT Fatal Frame V is being rereleased on Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation! That's the only thing I was excited for! -

So here are my thoughts on the Nintendo Direct: I'm glad for those who wanted a Tekken rep but I personally am not interested. I rarely play fighters from other fighting games like Ryu, Ken, and Terry so I probably will rarely play this character. That trailer was funny though.
Metroid Dread looks great. I'm really excited about that. Fatal Frame I'm especially excited for since I've been wanting to try that series. Super Monkey Ball Mania looks interesting. Glad to see another WarioWare Game.
BotW 2's trailer felt underwhelming to me. I know they showed footage of gameplay and how the sky is going to be involved more in the game....BUT that just left me with more questions. I wanted at least some explanations for what happened in the first teaser. -

Yeah...this year...i dunno, can we blame them for having such lackluster content? I mean we just started to come out of a pandemic and starting to get back into offices and stuff. I mean we still have the second half of 2021 to worry about!
And I think it's safe to say that Nintendo won this E3, even though it blundered on Zelda's 35th anniversary (C'mon, just a Game and Watch but no 35-player Zelda or something?)
Plus, Metroid Dread. Good to see the first sequel in 19 years come to the Switch.
Still wondering where's Prime 4 and Bayo 3 at tho. -

Prime 4 was briefly mentioned. I still blame them because it's been two years since the last teaser concerning BotW so we've been waiting for quite a while to get some questions answered and still be left in the dark. -

Yeah....but maybe it's for a good reason they did that. I mean, look at BotW 1. Now correct me if I'm wrong, as it's been a while but it had hype and not much gameplay was to be seen, right? Then E3 '16 came about and BLAM! they came out swinging and people went crazy (I think.) I think they're going for that approach again. I mean, if it worked the first time then a second time shouldn't hurt...Nintendo always keeps up with the suspense concerning one of their key IP's.
At least we got SOMEthing out of that. Now we just need a mashup of both trailers, put 'em together. -

So...I should explain my markings.
Smash-related news: self-explanatory. Kazuya from Tekken is in Smash.
Zelda 35th Anniversary plans: Heh, I should've put quotes around plans. At least it was acknowledged and we're getting an HD remaster of Skyward Sword and a Game and Watch. Just...a Game and Watch.
BotW2 Update: another self-explanatory one. However another lackluster reveal with just gameplay and a release year (next year!) At least give us a title, Nintendo!
Metroid Prime 4 update: Only a mention. However they made up for it with Metroid 5 aka Metroid: Dread. Nice to see that a project that was long-thought dead has been given life on the Switch.
MAJOR 3rd-Party title: I forgot why I marked this one TBH. DBZ: Kakarot is coming to Switch, Life is Strange is coming to Switch, were there any 3rd-party games in the direct that were major? Anybody?
Any Remakes?: I made a mistake. I should've included remasters with this space. There's Super Monkey Ball (is that a Major 3rd-party title?) Mario Party Superstars (kinda a remake considering the boards and minigames have been given a facelift,) the first two Advance Wars games and the aforementioned Life is Strange are getting a facelift so....i guess we can kinda call them remakes too, IDK.
TLDR: I knew I should've included a free space. The Direct was good, but I feel that there should've been...more. Maybe that's just the selfish gamer in me talking, IDK.
Or maybe I didn't capture what the community wanted. I know that people wanted Animal Crossing content (and were blown off) but I wasn't thinking of that. Maybe a Pikmin game announcement, but again I wasn't thinking of that either. Next time, I'm going to take all of that into account.
Still waiting on that Mother 3 Switch port though. And that Persona 5 port. Maybe sometime during the second half of 2021, maybe next year.
