Was it an illusion?
Nearly panicking while the gap between them and their ultimate doom crept closer. If it hadn't been for his necessity aiding Skarloc from drowning, he'd probably loose his will.
"Is it a way through?" Adrian rather frustrated, that he had to rely completely on someone else's vision.
Rather close together, Adrian kept one arm around Skarloc, while the other maintained them aloft.
"Guide me." As they both worked together, otherwise they'd be dead by now.
Problem was, the wolf didn't want to die, and as each spike drawing closer, even he couldn't help but feeling scared.
It was an success, as it had all been an illusion. While rather narrow, Adrian managed to push his friend up first, while keeping below water. As soon the hyena was clear, the wolf followed after.
The water seized to a halt, and they were on dry floor.
"Fools, I warned you? And what do you in return, ignoring my warnings, deliberately pursuing your selfish goals. Well, don't think I'm allowing it."
A ferocious growl, very much the same in fact, though perhaps a hint more ferocious then Skarloc in his actual form.
Adrian frantically tried to grasp his surroundings. They where in an rather large transfixed area. You wouldn't believe it from looking at it from the outside, but that the hall was as grand, fitting an even fully grown dragon, perhaps even two says it all.
Marble on the walls, with ancient hieroglyphics, dragons mostly, perhaps even Skarloc's family might've been imprinted somewhere. It also showed the terrible verdict that traversed this island ones, destroying almost all dragon kind, and those who tried to maintain peace.
The floor was rather uneven, made from rock and ice, making for an rather tricky surface for any normal customary at least. Surprisingly the roof was made of crystal, it was difficult to see, seen as it was so high above them.
Adrian tried reaching for his weapon, realizing he must've lost it. "Damn it." Cursing under his breathe, what now, as he aimlessly tried looking for what created that threatening voice in the first place.
At first there was nothing. Looking toward Skarloc, who surely must be wary of where this voice might come from. Surely the place isn't that big, you'd expect at least a fraction of what's coming by now. Or is it just another ruse?
The wolf tried to reason their very reason for entering. If there's any common sense in this being which are threatening them, perhaps it's deem to listen before violently charging through, caring little apart from destroying those unfortunate to enter it's territory.
"My friend's looking to release him self from a curse, and I have been summoned here by this ring." Stretching out his hand aimlessly, or at least the loose finger attached to it, so that whatever comes at them would be able to see it's wonder.
A sudden cold wind swept them both, colder then anything he could remember, as if it even pierced through their thick fur. Dropping his loose finger, having to protect both his ears from not freezing at the sudden impact.
"How's that fair, if we can't see you, how are we even going to be able defend us." Almost demanding a retort, forgetting he was ever scared in the first place.
This time the cold swept toward Skarloc, hopefully prepared for it's cowardly act.
All this time, nether one realized it was actually magic summoned by a creature which stared at them, as if testing them for the inevitable.
"You both show much promise, but that doesn't mean I'll offer any consent whatsoever before I'm done with ether one of you."
With little further chance of simply discussing their way out of this, the monster charged at them.
Quickly realizing that it was an armored knight, ancient, and that armor. Oh my! That'll be a pain breaking through, specially without his weapon. Not sure whether his friend had, had better luck.
Whether it was human or not, it was difficult to say, as no skin, nor fur were visible.
Charging straight toward the wolf at first, which barely managed to jump aside, his ring now lost somewhere on the rugged floor.
Quickly sweeping his sword toward the hyena in an ninety-degree pattern, before quickly stepping left and then right, before attempting an sideway slash.
Allowing the wolf to recuperate in the back, not sure what to do.. Was there any form of weapon that which he could use?
"Keep him busy Lance." Hopefully figuring out what to do while being allowed a moment to breathe.
((This character is mine, so if you wanna use him, don't kill him, just act as accordingly, like for instance from the tournaments where we initially handed out fair-play. If anything is amiss, lemme know by sending me a PM, or through skype.))
