I think STH for the PS2 was an amazing game for its time. It was really well done. I mean, did ya'll SEE the models? And the Mechanics only make it better.

I liked it. I think it got dunked on for being mature, not on real merit.

Really is such a shame not much else was built upon it and Shadow's character just became pretty dull with not much happening.  Facepalm Hopefully this year we see more Shadow content !!

I agree. He was never really a fully fleshed out character, but I think that's his thing. He's supposed to kind of be mysterious and unbeknownst to others with his motives. Let's hope Shadow makes more appearances in games, this time with actual lines and backstory being shown.

I really don't like when people get mad at a game simply because there's a rating over E. Who cares if that's what Sega usually does?

ShTH for ps2/gamecube had a lot of improvements over the previous game (heroes) that a lot of ppl don't give it credit for also! Thumbs Up

speaking as someone who just recently did a full playthrough (gamecube vers.) shadow's momentum has been tightened in this game and it feels much better to control him at higher speeds, he turns much wider bcuz of this and it doesn't feel as "slippery" as heroes did, but bcuz his top speed is still very high it makes going through levels w/ normal missions or just back tracking easier in my opinion

the gun play is also not as egregious as ppl think, there's no need to aim any of the automatic guns (only the rocket and missle launchers have reticles) as long as you're close enough to an enemy, there is some awkward enemy placement in the game, but I also find the ring system forgiving enough that it doesn't ruin the experience entirely. (you only lose 10 rings at a time, regardless of your total amount.)

I'll agree w/ ppl who dislike having to achieve the 10 unique endings in order to see the canon last story, but they also don't understand that the unique endings are actually to showcase the kind of character shadow could be, they're all meant to explore his character... unfortunately bcuz of how vague some of the cutscenes have to be in order for your choices to make sense (for example, you could do a few dark missions and then suddenly a hero/neutral one, the following cutscene needs to accommodate for that) ppl just assume every cutscene in ShTH is "one (in)coherent story" which isn't true

tldr; I feel like this game wasn't seen as "an exploration of shadow the hedgehog's character" by a lot of fans and it was really unfortunate that bcuz of that
sorry for such a long reply this game is just very fresh in my mind and I've come to really enjoy it as of recent  Hmmm

I just got it again and have only just started Westopolis but it seems just fine IMO. Only thing is, is my PC sucks and slows down while emulating it. I got the PS2 version so maybe I should find a GC edition for Dolphin.

(It happens to us all lol)

Yeah that's true on their original hardware but wouldn't an emulator like PCSX2 fix the performance issues?

Yeah those explosions really do a number on my Iris XE integrated graphics. Eggman Which is funny because I can play Lost World no problem and that's much newer and better graphically.

I still have the Xbox version and play through it once a year, no need for emulation.

yeahhh, probably something with the emulator making it lose frames Big

It was. On Dolphin it works so much better with minimal slow down. Must be how the emulator works because the GC version is better quality.
