  So rumors are two new models of Switch are releasing this year. A cheaper version with built in controls not detachable and a slightly more powerful version kinda like the New 3DS was to the 3DS. 
  
  So lets vote on what Nintendo will likely call the version without joycons. It won’t be transformable so maybe even Switch won’t be in the name because it wouldn’t make sense.

  Nintendo has gone on record and said that there are currently no new Switch models in the works.
  Yet this rumour refuses to die.

  Well one thing is I don’t really believe it will happen this year as reported by the Wallstreet Journal as it would have been announced already but when has Nintendo ever not upgraded a handheld? It’s only a matter of time.

  The Nintendo Switch mini may have been revealed. Won't believe it until official though.

  If it does end up being a thing they'll probably call it the Switch Lite or something like that.

  I've just been reading that article just now. I'll wait for a confirmation from Nintendo themselves to see what they say.

  Yeah most likely. I still like 1DS to continue the Wii U “Wut” factor. But in all seriousness I think a Switch with no joycons defeats part of its purpose. Aren’t they also required for several games?

  This thing sucks. Now it’s just a more powerful 3DS with one screen. I thought it’d still have TV output. It lacks HD rumble too.

  Why is this new version of the console called the Switch Lite? The original version console you could play it on the T.V or on the go, that's why it was called the Switch. But the new version of the console is just for on the go. But I guess they had to take away some things, to make it more affordable.
