if i remember correctly, watching sonic x on 4kids tv is what got me into it. then i begged my parents for sonic games and after i finally got a gamecube for christmas one year, i got sonic mega collection and thus began my downward spiral into my obsession of sonic. i still have all my old sonic games and play them whenever i'm in the mood. i used to have a bunch of old sonic figurines or action figures or whatever that came with chaos emeralds. i miss them. i have no idea what happened to them. -

It’s always disappointing when you lose things! I remember in the 90s McDonald’s had Sonic toys and I got some of them. I remember Knuckles would spin as you rolled him. I wish I still had it for collection sake. -

For me I started being a fan by reading the archie comics. Later I found out they had games for Sonic and I grabbed Sonic Heroes on GC and loved it! Then I scooped up all of the older games too. -

When the Dreamcast came out, and I saw the trailer for Sonic Adventure, that's when I went into "no expense too much" mode and imported a Sega Dreamcast, accessories, Sonic Adventure (which I had to do twice because the first disc was part of that infamous bad batch) and its been one hell of a ride since.
Exactly the same here Started in 1992. Although I didn't get a Dreamcast at first, I couldn't get one until they were discontinued but man it was sweet playing both Sonic Adventures. I was in love, finally a proper 3D Sonic game. -

It all began In 1991 when I played the very first Sonic game on the Sega Mega Drive which was bundle with the console. Then In 1992 I got Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on the Sega Mega Drive which I loved playing at the timeThen I got Sonic & Knuckles In 1994 loved the lock on technology where you can put Sonic 2 & 3 on It
For some reason I never got the chance to play Sonic 3 on the Sega Mega Drive. But I've finally played Sonic 3 at my cousins who had Sonic 3 & Knuckles. And Sonic 3 & Knuckles became my favourite Sonic game
Then I started watching the Sonic cartoons In the 90's on TV which I loved watching
Then I got a Sega Dreamcast In 1999 playing Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 love those games
Then In 2008 I started collecting Sonic The Hedgehog Merchandise and that's how I became a Sonic fan

My babysitters introduced me to many franchises like Pokemon, Kirby, and Sonic (it's probably thanks to them I am the gamer I am today). Thanks to the Sonic Mega Collection for the Gamecube, I had a fun time with the franchise but never was able to beat any of the games in that collection during that time (I was so close to beating Sonic 2 one time but I couldn't figure out how to beat Eggman's giant robot after Metal Sonic). I have now beaten the first, second, and Spinball on my Sega Genesis. When I got the Wii, I saw trailers for Sonic Colors on the Wii channel. My mom said that it had very bad reviews (this apparently was her strategy into thinking she wasn't getting it for Christmas...she is really good at surprises). I got Colors for Christmas and it was the first 3D Sonic game I played. I didn't play Sonic Adventure till maybe a year ago with a Dreamcast I found in a garage sale.
