currently I work in a local restaurant!
I started there as a cook but slowly became the "guy who knows how to do everything" there, and now I have a more responsible but flexible role there - I designed the takeout menus, work on the website, and ... we also have chalkboard-painted walls and whiteboard signs for our windows that I illustrated and decorate, for example we were doing a promotion for a "fire cracker" sandwich and I drew a large chinese dragon breathing fire to show how "spicy" the sandwich was which was a fun experience and I learnt a lot (I had never drawn a dragon before)! customers are really happy to watch me work on illustrations while they wait for their food too which... makes me a little self conscious while I work but they're very encouraging towards me as well. aside from "drawing on the walls" all day I also now work up front taking orders and serving customers, but I'm also able to go back into the kitchen and help with anything if my staff needs it.
speaking of grocery stores though... before I moved to the city where I live now I worked in the bakery department at the grocery store in my hometown, I'm originally from a place with a population of less than 8,000
working in the bakery dept was nice bcuz we made everything from scratch, so I learnt a lot working there for 3~4 years from being someone who only packs product, to a cake decorator, and then a baker!
