Seriously though, even me not playing this game I can tell this is a good run, the use of Chaos Spear at the beginning portions was clean.
Though speaking of Time-Attacking Shaderations, there is something that kind of concerns about that, being Chaos Control also stopping the in-game timer. I've been told it can really break the Time-Attack experience because you can get shorter times by taking slower routes to charge Chaos Control and spam it as much as you can to shave off way more seconds than a shortcut could, which means it's kinda hard to get legitimate times without some kind of external tracker.
Though of course, it can be argued the focus on Chaos Control instead of shortcuts helps differentiate Shadow's gameplay from Sonic, but I would argue it's kind of anthithetical to at least the Boost style of game, though I can't say much since I can't play the game itself.
So what I'm saying is, to not just Jazz but anyone who has Shaderations, what's the thoughts on Chaos Control and tracking TA times with such an ability?

to my mind, it makes sense that we use in-game time for individual level runs (and most action games do), because a ton of the routing in the levels revolves around the tradeoffs of using chaos control. certain routes are slower in real time but provide more chaos energy, and other routes are faster in real time but prevent you from using CC to pause the timer (or use a CC shortcut route) later on. those routing choices are interesting to me, and clearly the developers agree because they made CC pause the timer in the first place (and even built some S-rank thresholds around the expectation that you'll be using it).

I run the game on lowest settings and 30fps and didn't really experience any problems while playing and I was really surprised by that
also, it will be fun to possibly see more ppl coming into this thread to speedrun levels from shadow gens [Image: https://sonicblast.org/images/smilies/e5009264.gif] I should consider it myself (even though I'm not very good at the game, haha)
