I find the fun of TA'ing being of surpassing yourself and finding your own METAs so having it in the back of your head all the optimization you could be doing kind of takes away from that.

I'll be getting to that. Though Heroes sounds like a really good TA as well, I haven't really played it as much as I wish I did, but I'm already routing out the levels in my head... along with hearing Tails' constant "Whee!".

for Sonic Heroes I always enjoyed Team Chaotix's stages, if you know where everything is then the missions are just about optimization, did a quick run of Mission 1 "Collect 10 Hermit Crabs" since I know where almost all 20 of them are (which is Mission 2) but I haven't played Heroes in so long I forgot how the game controls and had to do a few runs getting comfortable again prior to this one haha... I'll maybe do some other stages later today

Actually, I think doing Team Chaotix's levels first is a blessing in disguise since they're usually pretty short if you know where to look. I dread doing Mystic Mansion, though.
I'm glad I finally got around to TA'ing this game. Lets you take advantage of the nuance of the controls. It seemed annoying at first how you couldn't switch leaders while in the air, but it also allows for stuff like immediately switching after doing a groundpound with Power-Type and that's super fun.
Gotta get used to that Rocket Accel on the Speed-Type, though. The timing gets surprisingly tricky when you're trying to be precise with the movement, though I know you can get crazy height off of ramps when you do it right.

been thinking abt trying Chaotix' Mystic Mansion again later today, but it would be more bcuz "haha I can't believe I put the time into this" more than anything, just a funny

Specially on the Power sections, I always thought the grounded attack to be universally clunky but here it worked smoothly. And I see that I definitely need to get air-dashes out of my go-to kit. Really gotta trust those floaty jumps more often.
Now knowing a more optimal routing would have me immediately trying to beat that time, but right now I've already been hours at trying to do Team Hero Grand Metropolis and like heck I'm stopping now.
