Hey all, long time no see! Haha, this is a funny one because this is a post on a Sonic the Hedgehog oriented message board, and characters in the video games have used that exact phrase ('long time no see') on numerous occasions.
So, I'm thinking of converting my bedroom into a more video-game oriented place, meaning I'll have various consoles and games around the room. At the forefront of it all I'd like a Mega Drive. Obviously, being here, I'm a pretty big Sonic guy so you can probably understand why on that front, but otherwise I just want one. They look cool as all Hell, and I'm aware of how awesome the games are.
That said, I don't really have a concrete idea of which games I'd like to get, you know, just to start with. I'm already pretty sure I want all the Sonic games (duh) and the Phantasy Star games (I want to see what all the fuss is about, since I adored the short time I spent playing PSO a few months back) and I want to play Streets of Rage 2 - I've only heard one song on the OST but that was enough to sell me - but otherwise, I haven't got a clue as to what great games there are outside of that.
It's also worth adding that I'm thinking of getting my hands on a Master System, if only so I can play the first Phantasy Star, but I have no idea, virtually, of that console's library, so any pointers in that respect would be cool, too.

There are two versions of the Master System. I & II The first model I think is more rarer, then the second model. The second model is more easier to get, and it has a built in various game. I don't know if the first model had a built in game, but you can use a scart cable with that. The Master System II, you need to tune it into the TV. Also an old CRT TV is best for running these consoles. A HDTV is okay, but a CRT TV best for old consoles.
The Master System does have many good games for it. I have said before, I think Sonic 1 on the Master System is better than the one on the Mega Drive. Other good games on the Master System in my opinion are Asterix, Master of Darkness, what is like the first Castlevania game on the NES. Also R-Type what is a good shooter, and Shinobi.
I don't know much about the Phantasy Star series, apart from some of them can be expensive. I have the fourth game on the Wii Virtual Console, and Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast. Although I haven't played them much.
