These days split screen gaming is few and far between. Almost all of the hyped games this year were single player games with no multiplayer and even the games with multiplayer lots don't even provide any couch coop. The only one I can think of is Black Ops 4 and I'm not a big COD person. There's Smash but it's a fighting game and all fighting games have two players at least. This has got to be my biggest gripe with current games. Even Halo which was huge with four player split screen sessions(never played these but I know they were big) lost that feature.
What big games still use split screen and do you wish it would come back? -

Divinity Original Sin II: Enhanced Edition this year featured up to 4-player splitscreen, and it's a fantastic RPG to boot. It's probably one of the few this year that did have it. I suppose with the prevalence of online gaming it's diminished somewhat. That said, you can always count on good indie games like Enter the Gungeon or Wizard of Legend to get your fix, as well as party titles. With 'Triple A' titles, it comes down to the fact that they'd feel like they're "losing sales" if you can have mor than one player to a game copy. -

This is why I'm happy that Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee has couch coop, Just a shame its not implemented very well. -

I must admit, it's odd that split screen is such a disappearing act, I mean nowadays the size of most televisions would be perfect for this, but nope instead it was big when we had to share a 24 inch television or even smaller. Ha ha!
While they aren't as obvious among the countless AAA titles, I think there's plenty of indie titles that offer such. Divinity Original Sin one of it's finest examples, but there's loads just have to look for em. -

Yeah I remember 24 inch CRT TVs. Now days a 24 inch looks TINY but because TVs were way more bulky back then it seemed normal, they still seem way bigger than their flat panel counterparts.
What I hate is 16:9 widescreen has been standard for over a decade now and there are still games that do horizontal split screen. I hate it because it squishes it so much. I prefer vertical so each side gets half the screen. I don't know how we ever managed four player split screen on an old CRT TV. lol -

Well Sonic Superstars did multiplayer but it wasn't split screen. Baldurs Gate 3 has split screen. Gran Turismo 7 upgraded its 2 player split screen to 4 player on PS5. That's the only new games I can think of that has it.
Anyone miss when almost every game had split screen? Can you think of any recent ones that have it? -

it's such a shame that split screen multiplayer seems to be not as prominent as it used to be, current and newer tvs have such large resolutions that split screen looks quite great on them! -

I think the Lego games still have split-screen, but its been ages since I've been able to play any of them multiplayer with anyone.
Local couch co-op multiplayer in general feels like it's becoming somewhat rarer unfortunately. -

They are still splitscreen. I play those games with my brother and it is one of the very few we do not have to take turns...
