Well it looks like they are starting to finalize PS5 details. I'm sure the specs/hardware are pretty close to finalized if not finalized now as those are set before the system comes out so developers have time to make games for the system. We already know companies have dev kits and are working on games for it. So what do you think? PS5 in 2019 or 2020? Rumors were it was supposed to come out in 2019 but it got pushed back to 2020. I tend to believe in it originally coming out 2019 because they called the Pro a mid-gen refresh which puts 2016 directly halfway to 2019.

By this point I think its a safe bet that the PS5 will be revealed this year, what with them skipping E3 to focus on there own event.
However 2020 is probably the more realistic year to expect a release.

Yeah I kind of expect an announcement this year. They're probably avoiding E3 so when they announce it, they will have the whole spotlight on them which is what is so fantastic about Nintendo Directs. More companies should take that approach rather than spending tons of money at huge events for flashy, gaudy presentations.
