RE: Sonic Blast's Favourite Sonic Game Part 2

Unfortunately I think I missed the time window to vote in the poll. For me, it's pretty much impossible to choose a favorite Sonic game. There are Sonic games I love more or less than others, and each game has things I like or don't like about it. I also love the classic and modern eras equally, I just enjoy them in different ways and for different reasons.
But, in regard to the first three modern Sonic games from the main series, if I had to rank one more highly than the others in some respects -- I would choose Sonic Adventure. That game is dear to me, and I am always saddened when I think about how they could have made more games of that nature but never did so enough. I dearly love Sonic Adventure 2, Unleashed, and many side series games that continued in the tradition of Sonic Adventure in at least some aspects -- but I would have loved to see more main series games, such as a Sonic Adventure 3, that included precious aspects rarely found outside of Sonic Adventure or Unleashed such as hub worlds, interactive NPCs, and so on.
I feel like Sonic Adventure should be the standard that all modern games strive to achieve. I love everything about that game -- the multitude of characters and stories to experience, the varied gameplay style, the variety of wondrous worlds to explore ranging across so many different areas, climates, weather, scenery, the expansive and immersive adventure fields and fun NPC dialog. And, one of the dearest aspects of all - the Chao. Not to mention all the extra goodies DX brought, such as the mission mode and being able to unlock and play all 12 Sonic GameGear games. I of course love the soundtrack, the wonderful story and just everything about Sonic Adventure.
To this day, Sonic Adventure in many ways feels like the beefiest Sonic game with the greatest amount of content and variety. I feel like Sonic Adventure 2 was almost on the level of Adventure, and Unleashed was also filled to the brim with content -- but Adventure still comes out on top in that regard.
Lastly -- Sonic Adventure has become an annual Christmas tradition of mine. I love experimenting with mods, and one mod I have installed allows access to most if not all of the previously Dreamcast-exclusive DLC. Two of the DLCs add in precious Christmas trees, music, and fun notes scattered throughout one of the adventure fields -- I'll be vague on the details so I don't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen these yet, but feel free to let me know if you want any help with finding / installing the mods for this and I can definitely help.
In conclusion, Sonic Adventure will always hold a special place in my heart and holds the bar high for the quality and passion all modern games should strive to achieve.
