A group of fans have decided to remake 3D Blast in 2D. Looks interesting but idk if it'll play well. Needs good level design.

This game was actually recently completed like earlier this month or last month (I forget which). The level design, while not being outright terrible, isn't all that great either. The bosses, however, from what I've played are RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP AND UNFAIR! (Especially the Tails Doll Boss, seriously, that battle took me over 20 minutes of constant retries and Game Overs to defeat.) On another positive note, however, you can now switch between the Genesis and Saturn/PC versions of 3D Blast's ost as well as being able to set a custom ost. On a final note, the controls are pretty responsive.

Holy crap
, well hats off to them on actually finishing it though. I feel like so many fan games never end up completed. Sad to hear it wasn't that great in level design though. I might try it still just to see what it's like. lol

I just got this on my PC, played through the first level. It's interesting. I'll see what I think when I get farther in. -

Yeah I like Rusty Ruin a lot! But it was also my favorite level on the actual game with my favorite music so I'm a bit biased.

This looks cool, but based on the trailer seems more like... a general fan game? "in 2D" makes me think they'd try to adapt the actual game, but other than the level designs it seems kind of it's own thing; playable Tails & Knuckles, inclusion of Fang, reference to Perfect Chaos and... no Flickies to follow you around.
Not to knock it, I'm sure it's great, just seems like an odd choice naming-wise.
