I'm just curious:
what do you guys ship in terms of Sonic characters?
For those unaware, a ship basically refers to a relationship (be it of romantic nature or not) between two (or more) characters, might be known as a "pairing" in some communities.
Personally, I've been a Sonic/Shadow fan since my early STH fandom days. There's just something about rivals-to-lovers that I really like. -

I've never been big on these but one I always was a fan of is Sonic and Sally. -

I am not a big shipping guy. And I think looking around Social Media has made me despise shipping a bit. There are a few I consider okay but most I tend to despise. In fact, in one discord server, I basically made my dislike towards shipping a running gag
. But that being said, there is only one ship that I actually like. In a Youtube channel called Sonicsong182, they paired Gadget the Wolf (aka the Avatar character from Sonic Forces) with Maria Robotnik the Hedgehog and I think it's pretty cute. It's also funny ro see Shadow's reactions towards this as he acts like a very protective big brother or father towards Maria .

Would it be at all fair to ship Knuckles and the Master Emerald? Those two have always seemed pretty close to me, a tight pairing for sure! And Knuckles is really protective too, which is an admirable quality!
Okay sorry I kid, that was silly! But I couldn't resist that one given my screen name and all that jazz!
Honestly I've never really given much consideration to character shipping, apart from those that the stories have tried to insinuate in their own way. Knuckles and Rouge, Sonic and Amy, Shadow and Identity Crisis' (sorry). Beyond the basics I'm not entirely sure if there is enough character qualities that stand out consistently enough to match anyone to anyone else. This series could definitely use some consistent character development to make this task far more doable! -

I always liked the Knuckles and Rouge pairing. They definitely have a vibe in SA2. -

That is true. I'm just upset that beyond that game, they sort of pulled it back a lot. Playing through Sonic Heroes a few years later, I was anxious and ready for some more development with the two of the, but ultimately I don't think it followed through at all. At least, not in any way that organically works for what was being built up in SA2. Sonic Battle also had some opportunity to build upon it and sadly fell a bit flat as well, I think. (To be fair, it's been over 15 years since I last played that one, so if I am wrong on it missing the mark I beg someone correct me!) -

I like Sonic and Blaze personally, I think they have good chemistry and I felt like they made a great team in Sonic Rush. They're currently my favorite ship.
I'm curious if the ships are limited to a specific Sonic Universe? Like for example, I don't really mind Sonic and Amy in Sonic Boom, but that's the only universe I like that particular ship. I usually like pairing Amy with Shadow.
I kind of miss Knuckles and Julie-su, though I also like Knuckles with Shade...in my fanfiction 'verse I treat them as the same character since I'm convinced Shade was based off Julie-su from the comics.
Tangle and Whisper, for some reason to me they're just cute together.
I have paired Silver and Mighty but I realize that was just more of a way to create a backstory for the two. I'm not sure if I'll still go that angle since it seems odd and random.
Tails and Marine was kind of cute.
Kind of like "Jimbotnik" with Agent Stone.
I'm not sure about the others. Guess I'm just figuring it out as I go.
