When they announced the collection and which systems it was onI was like wut... because 3 was only announced for two systems. They may port it later though but it was kickstarted so they probably don’t have the funds for every system. I also heard that Sony helped fund it a bit but not sure how true that was.
How did you like the collection and did you play them when they first came out? -

The collection is great and I'm almost finished with the first game, I discovered Shenmue for the Dreamcast back in 2000 in a second hand game shop called Graywhale CD Exchange and not noing anything about it I decided to give it a try since I was looking for more DC games to add to my collection.(09-11-2018, 04:02 PM)Aaronterasu Okami Wrote: I want this game on xbox one, my pc can handle it but I wish it was for bxo since I got shenmue 1&2 HD on it already.

It was one of the best games in my collection along with Sonic Adventure, Toy Commander,Crazy Taxi, Soul Reaver and Soul Calibur, other games I had were good too but these were the best.
I didn't even know Shenmue 2 existed until 2008 when I went looking for cheap GameCube games at Graywhale, I had a xbox 360 but not the original xbox so I ignored the og games until I saw the cases cover at the very end of the shelf and next to it was a shelf with gameCube games.
While looking at the far left side where the shelf of GameCube games began that's when my eye's looked more left where the xbox games ended and noticed Ryo on the cover but then was disappointed it was only for xbox since I didn't know the 360 could play og games I was going to put it back until an employee told me the 360 could play it, the purchase was worth it because it's an amazing game plus it was cheap lol only $18
I really hope Shenmue 3 comes to xbox one, sega still owns the rights to Shenmue but yeah I heard the rumor as well that Sony funded it but most funds came from fans on kickstarter so I hope fans demand an xbox one release. -

I am not sure if I should wait and start on 3 or get the collection. After playing Yakuza I’m afraid these might feel way out of date. -

The controls are kinda clunky but it's still worth playing since the rest of the game holds up really well, if you jump in to 3 you will be confused on what is going on in the story so go play 1&2 first that way it will make sense. -

Yeah it’s cheap enough. How long are the games minus side quests and optional content? -

Shen 1 can be beat in one day if your not busy and don't have anything to do on a day you play it, a good amount of time is spent on looking for clues to the whereabouts of Lan Di like a detective by asking people what they have seen or rumors they have heard.
The game gets really good in the middle of the story when Ryo starts to get leads in his investigations and gets into fights with a gang after being too nosey which leads him to getting a job a the harber where he fights tons of guys from the mad angels gang and at the end of the game Ryo has to fight 70 guys.
Shen 2 is a beast of a game as it's very massive in the size of it's locations and bigger story which will take longer to beat, I'd say about 2 or 3 days.
The day and Night system kinda pads both games to make them feel longer like setting up a meeting with someone to take place the next day which means you have to wait for the time of 11pm just so Ryo can go to sleep and start the next day.
If both games weren't padded with a day and night cycle then I'd say Shen 1 could be beaten in 4 or 5 hours and Shen 2 could be beaten in one day.
