  Lets reminisceabout old sonic sites from a time when they were abundanton the internet. Of course I know Sonic HQ, I've known this site since 2002. Been a lurker ever since then.
  
  - Sonic Zone. I used to frequent the old Sonic Zone and it was great until the site imploded.
  
  - Mystical Forest Zone. Some of the best resources for sprites that has been restored on deviantart, but it'snot the same without its own site.
  
  - One that's still around is TKA.net or tails kicks ass dot net. Always had a good experiencewith this site.
  
  Are there Sonic sites that you miss or still visit if they'restill around?

  Were you ever a member of a Sonic site prior to 2003? If so, you'd be an oldbie on Sonic Retro! I unfortunately didn't have a computer growing up, so I didn't participate in the Sonic Community until 2008. I remember coming across the Sonic 2 Beta page before Sonic Retro came to be in the mid 00's.

  Mystical Forest Zone was great for sprites and level backgrounds, I always went there. Seems it's been backed up on Deviant Art.
  
  I was big into this site called CMCT before I started Sonic Blast. It had a site but the forums were bustling and I stayed there mostly. The owner lost interest in Sonic and changed the site to something else.
  
  And I found Sonic HQ when it still was Vector themed and back then it just seemed like that was the go to place then it slowly got abandoned until Lighthead took over.

  My home was a forum called Sonic Cage Dome, which I believe branched off from Sonic Stadium.  It really hooked me with the "Emerald Challenges", where you'd use Gens+ to record yourself doing challenges. You'd then get an animated gif of that emerald for the challenge you completed, with your initials on it. 
  I wish I still had those.

  Welcome to the forum!   I remember Cage Dome! I wasn't a big follower of it but I was on their forums for a bit and it had a really cool website. I heard they were going to relaunch a few years back but I guess they never did.

  The oldest site I can remember on the top of my head was Tails-Kicks-Ass. The comics we're amazing!

  I remember a site called sonic Vegemite that was all about hoaxes. It was fun to see the fakes that people came up with.
