Hello all! Proto here.
So, how many of you remember these ads?
They were from a time when Nintendo was engaged with their community-at-large, spotlighting the many different emotions that their players experience when playing their titles. It was quite hilarious at times to see a character's face (or other body parts-see the Metroid Zero Mission ad) plastered over a photorealistic body to advertise a certain game.
Anyways, according to
this article by IGN back in 2003, George Harrison (And before you ask, no, not THAT George Harrison,) then-Senior vice-president of marketing and corporate communications for NOA said:
Quote:"Nintendo permanently established video games as a key element of popular culture, and 'who are you?' embodies the emotional connection players have with their favorite games and characters. This campaign celebrates what makes Nintendo unique -- the fact that we offer the widest range of personalities through which you can unleash your other self ... your game self."
And that statement still...kinda holds true today, even though that campaign had reached its end. But...this campaign was a big part of gaming back in those days. IMO It made everyone want a certain game, to feel those feelings.
So I figured,
why not bring it back?
WELL....THAT WAS AFTER I SAW THESE.
A very talented Twitter user by the name of @Kemmo_Ado had done a few of those, and other people were inspired to do the same, me included.
So here we are. I present to you, My "Who Are You?" edit of Persona 5 Royal!
