He has? I don't quite notice that. For me, the only things I see are slightly more flattened eye colours and a shorter and stubbier appearance, but nothing else. -

I mean they tried to split it into two timelines and I think he has always had different styles if just subtle. Sonic 2 and Sonic Advance look vastly different. -

Follow-up on this by the way....you'll be glad to know that Sega's now gone back on that idea. They're now once again saying "classic" and "modern" Sonic are the same character.
It does create a plot hole regarding why Sonic didn't remember the Phantom Ruby in Forces, but I guess it is what it is. -

Phew, I am glad to hear that. I did not mind it so much but I much prefer not to be split into different characters. -

I never really thought of them as different characters, just from different timelines. Is that was Sega was originally going for? -

Like a lot of things in Sonic, Sega changed their minds. Several times, too.
In the Japanese version of Sonic Adventure, an NPC talks about how Sonic saved the Little Planet and Angel Island in Sonic CD and Sonic 3 respectively. So from the very start, Sega established that the classic stuff was just what happened before the modern stuff.
Then Generations comes along. The game treats Classic Sonic as Sonic's past self, and that's that. But it does bring up the question of whether Classic Sonic knowing about his future impacts anything. The Archie comics explained this by just saying "after returning to the past, Classic Sonic gradually forgot everything he experienced in Gens". But Sega decided to go for a different angle.
So, Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces, come out. Forces continues from Mania, and firmly says Classic Sonic is from another dimension, which got re-iterated several times in interviews. People weren't happy about this for a few reasons, one reason being the lack of explanation. It wasn't clear if they were saying "everything pre-adventure is now in a separate dimension" or if "Classic Sonic" and Sonic's past self were now two different people.
What I mean by that is, some people thought that maybe Classic Sonic returning (to the past) with memories of his future self caused the timeline to split off into a new dimension where things went differently (because Eggman saw a few of his future plans in Gens, and knew which would fail). But Sega never said anything about this, and fans were left hanging.
And then, just last year, Sega firmly said that Classic Sonic was back to being considered Sonic's past self. -

the iHop/Retro Waitress Amy skin is available for everyone! if you visit the Superstars website here, you can choose your preferred way to receive the skin and you'll be directed accordingly! (I struggled to find it on steam initially bcuz it didn't have it's own page like the Christmas and Shadow Pajama skin, but is listed on the Superstars Steam page)

Oh, that's nice! Heard somewhere people were clammering so much for this outfit that folks all the way in Japan we're paying people overseas to get the code for them. Wild stuff, so I'm glad this won't be locked behind a long-gone promotion. Games like to do that a lot.
And we can all agree it's still called the iHop Amy outfit, right? I mean, "Retro Waitress" is a bit wordy anyways.
