New patch is out today!

I was hoping it would add Shadow but Sonic dressed as Shadow is what we are getting for DLC at some point. -

Sonic Superstars placed 12th in Circana's top games for December. This is US only and a BIG spending month so 12th is probably very good numbers sold overall. It actually went up one spot since November. -

it's such a shame that other games like MK8 went up 10 whole ranks in a month despite being out for years now while Sonic Superstars seemed to hover around the middle for both November and December... this doesn't even include digital sales for games like MK8 and Minecraft

Well remember December is an even bigger spending month in the US so while it did only go up one position it probably went up a decent amount in units sold even if it would have stayed the same position.
But I agree with you about MK8. I feel a lot of Nintendo games are overhyped. They're good, yes, but not nearly as good as what they're rated by critics. I feel Nintendo generally gets rated 1-2 points higher just because they are Nintendo and Sonic gets 1-2 points less just because it's Sonic. -

I know what you mean, I had an interesting conversation abt this before that ppl will critique Sonic for smth simply bcuz it's Sonic, but if Ninten/Mario do smth similar it's wow! so amazing! -

Not that I think Superstars is great, I do think it has room for improvement, but I also think it has a great foundation to work off of. The single player is just as good as Mania IMO.
If this game was exactly the same with Mario characters I believe most reviewers would have given it a full point more from 7/10 to 8/10. -

yeah, I enjoyed my time with Sonic Superstars for the most part but when I come back to it I only find myself wanting to replay the first 3~ or so zones which says a lot abt the designs for them, there's obvious issues w/ the game when it comes to QOL such as volume mixing and how unforgiving the final bosses are since there's no checkpoints at all - but I know what you mean, if this was a Mario game even with all it's faults still ppl would instantly be more lenient on it bcuz "it's Mario"
I totally agree w/ @Sonicfan059 though, 2 player mode is fun and I almost worry anything more than 2 players should've been some sort of split screen instead, like competition mode basically. my favourite thing abt 2 player mode is depending on the person you're playing w/ then it's very satisfying to get through a zone together, especially if you're actually cooperative w/ one player as tails

The levels are very much CDish and it makes sense cause the CD director worked on this.
