Hey ya all I thought I'd put an official topic here for the new movie. I keep seeing new mini trailers in youtube ads. Really excited for this and they did great casting for Knuckles voice actor. -

I love what they've shown so far. The trailers make me think they're going to adapt Sonic 2, 3 & Knuckles in the same film, which is an excellent idea. Robotnik finally looks like Robotnik, Tails looks adorable -and a capable guy-, and Sonic... well, he's playing the superhero trope, I like that.
But overall, casting Idris Elba as Knuckles voice, as well as promoting the character as a serious threat, makes me VERY HAPPY. I love seeing the red echidna getting some love and being treated not as a one-dimensional derp strongman stereotype, but more of a tough, headstrong badass that can take down Sonic.
The first one was a movie featuring Sonic. Now this one feels more like THE Sonic movie. -

Genuinely really excited for it - the trailer looks super fun, and seems to be hitting the exact right 'Sonic' tone. Also excited to see them holding onto some of the original movie stuff as well, like bringing Agent Stone back in, who was a delight in the first film.
I think the best sign though is that they're clearly still listening to the fans - when there was the controversy regarding the posters not crediting Colleen O Shaughnessey for instance, they jumped straight on to amending that rather than just ignoring or letting it blow over. Feels like they both really care about Sonic as a franchise, and also really care about what the fans think. -

Oh man, I've waited MONTHS for this. I have had to do everything I can to withhold my excitement at work and annoy people about it lol.
They couldn't have picked a better VA for Knuckles. I'm actually glad to see Agent Stone return! I liked his reaction to the red echidna...and Knuckles reacting violently.
Tails looks great too, glad they used his game VA.
Yes I do think they really care about the fans.
Kind of have a theory that Robotnik will continue to look more and more like his game self as time goes on, but I guess we'll see. They did green light Sonic 3 after all! -

I never considered that but that would be awesome if by the end of the movie Dr. Robotnik is much fatter and eggish looking! -

Friend brought me to this movie as a slightly delayed birthday treat (movie came out the day after my birthday, and saw it on the 9th). Without going into spoilers territory, we both loved this movie. Honestly, I feel it was better than the first IMO. Theater was fun too, kind of like a mini Sonic convention. Many there wore Sonic stuff and had Sonic plushies, myself included (I had a Tails plush, wearing a Tails shirt). -

Nice! I haven't seen it yet but I will today. I saw an interview where Jim Carrey said he hopes in Sonic 3 to have a fat suit. -

I watched It two weeks ago In the UK and I loved every minute of It
