Well, if that's the case then the show shouldn't have been made in the first place. If you can't make a decent show with the limitations you have, then don't make it, but hey at least Pepsi, a little known small business got some well-earned exposure. Seriously, when I hear references to Doritos or Facebook Marketplace, and there not being tied into a joke, I feel like I lose brain cells. Like do the writers think we're stupid?
  
  Also, and this is a minor thing, I get that most of the writers are probably Gen Xers and old millenials still stuck in the 80s, but what's with all the 80s music? I tend to associate Sonic with the 90s. Personally, I would prefer more of the in game music and less licensed music, but if it's going to be in there, why not give it a 90s or early 2000s vibe?
  
  Anyway, grown adult ranting about a kids show over. Lol! I'm just more upset that I'm starting a week long stay-cation and I was hoping for a good tv series to kick it off and I didn't get it. Oh well.

  One other odd thing I noticed about the show is what things it was willing to show/reference, and what things it deemed too "mature" or "controversial".
  
  Take the scene where Knuckles fights the puppet of Iblis. They never call the demon "Iblis" in the show, and the credits instead call it the "Fire Demon". Even in the Twitter posts they've made about the scene, they just say the Fire Demon is a reference to "an antagonist" from Sonic 06. They don't want to say Iblis' name. And the reason they don't want to say Iblis' name is that it originates from the Islamic word for the devil.
  
  So, someone at Paramount panicked, and said "we can't use this name under any circumstances because it might be controversial".
  
  At the same time, though, the show has a tendency to push the envelope on what it considers acceptable. Half of the teams Wade goes up against in the bowling tournament have names that are either puns on obscenities, or sexual innuendoes, and nobody working on the show seemed to bat an eye at that.
  
  The main villain of the show (in a super powerful mech) gets squashed by a glass ball, and that's that. You might wonder if the mech lets him survive (rendering the whole finale moot), but the show just looks the other way on that, because they want the villain to be gone, but are afraid of establishing a character as dead. Sonic Prime also suffered from something similar to this, actually.
  
  It's just odd, seeing where the show draws the line.

  The moment for me that really sticks out is when they're all having dinner with Wade's Jewish family and his mother says something like "yes, the Jews have faced a lot of challenges." I think we all know where our minds immediately went to. I was like "damn, getting pretty real for a Sonic show."
