RE: IDW/Archie/Fleetway Comics

The problem is I don't have a lot of time to drive across town so I will pick it up but it will probably be in a few days.
Yes I am excited what else they have in store for the miniseries. I remember being super excited for Knuckles mini series before he got his own comic line. Before he had a mini series, Knuckles had separate short stories in the comics that were only a couple pages. -

I plan on picking it up today during my break at lunch, it's just a 3 minute walk to my comic shop. -

another interesting thing is in the solicitation for issue 4 of fang the hunter (posted by IDW Sonic News on twt) it claims that it's the "first classic-era mini series" meaning we'll see more in the future aside from the anniversary comics we've gotten!
What's your assessment on issue 2? Is it as good as #1? -

overall I'm very happy with issue 2! from seeing more zones on angel island again to a zone that we haven't seen in a very long time, I'm very excited to see where this whole plot is leading to. unfortunately the solicitations somewhat spoiled parts of the story, which can't be helped but it still sucks bcuz the reveal of the hard boiled heavies returning again would've been much more exciting closer to issue 3 coming out w/ preview pages or smth
I'm not sure if I enjoy the way team hooligan is written currently though - they're not called that in IDW-verse though they're just simply called "fang's gang", team hooligan is an archie thing, and they lived up to that name in archie
I can understand that fang's self centered personality is smth bean and bark would get tired of over time, and that they dislike how fang is always putting them in less than favourable situations, and is even willing to work w/ eggman who usually doesn't pay up if his plans aren't fully realized... but I liked how in amy's 30th anniversary comic fang seemed to have a soft spot for bark and bean, these were two ppl who were always w/ him causing antics whether successful or not, and that is lightly touched upon in the fang mini-series but I'm worried team hooligan is going to have a falling out at the end of this 4 issue mini-series and then it serves as an explanation as to why bean and bark aren't seen in superstars, which the mini-series takes place prior to
I'm also really interested in the secondary plot w/ sonic, tails, and the disappearing ship, which is supposed to also lead fang's gang to the same area roughly, so there's gonna be some cool classic-era lore happening!
all in all I know we're only 2/4 issues into this mini-series and things could easily change from issue to issue, I guess I'm just anxious over the thought of not seeing my favourite trio of characters together anymore, but I'm sure things won't end terribly

a few announcements happened this week w/ the comics
firstly, the fang the hunter mini series will be collected into a trade paperback and is set to release in october 2024 (from: IDWSonicNews on twt) so this'll be great for everyone who has been unable to purchase the individual issues at comic book shops. if it's anything like the previous TPBs IDW has released then you'll also have all the variant covers collected inside, which is one reason I personally get them despite also buying the individual issues
a preview page has also been released for issue 3 of fang the hunter, for those who wish to view it, you can see on IDWSonicNews' twt here; if you haven't read issue 2, there's mild spoilers in the preview
**last minute edit: it seems issue 3 is being pushed back to april 3, rather than releasing on march 20
the last announcement for now is that Sonic Prime will be getting a graphic novel adaption of the first 2 episodes of season 1, published by IDW. PRHComics' website states that the graphic novel will be abt 144 pages long and will be on sale on november 19 2024, but that could easily change
they've also included a cover image on their site, but for now it's very plain with no other information on it

I'm really happy to hear that the Fang series is good! I'm probably going to wait to pick up the collection when it comes out. Although, I might try to grab them if I can make the time, my local comic shop has pretty short hours. -

Of course, no spoilers but wow there's some questions!
I was also pretty surprised w/ the reveal, part of me went "oh yeah--" totally forgetting about (it) part of me was hoping for (something different) especially since Sonic the Fighters was instantly what I thought the inspiration for the "the 8th Chaos Emerald" was but I like where the story is going and we'll see how everything wraps up

the collection will come out in October later this year which will be quite the wait (it's worth it!) but if you do manage to pick up the individual issues that are out right now I recommend it as well; I understand the struggle though, I have to wake up quite early just to be able to get to my comic book store to get the issues I want
