  Very catchy but i dont know where it would fit in the game. It could work in casino night zone but i dont like it as much as the tune already in that game. Sonic 2 originally was going to have time travel so maybe its music for a future/past level?

  Something about this sounds off - when I think of Sonic 2 my mind doesn't instantly jump to the regular "twangy" (not that that's a bad thing) music you tend to get on the Mega Drive, as opposed to the distinct style Sonic 1 and 2's music had... And yet here we are.
  
  If I didn't know any better, I would suggest that, this being a multi-game test cart, this music had accidentally been lumped in with the rest of the Sonic 2 stuff when it really belonged somewhere else, but again, only if I didn't know better. That Sega chime is a dead giveaway. Interestingly, I don't think that many games barring Sonic used it, even though it had been the company's jingle for years and years before Sonic.
  
  EDIT: Thinking about it now, especially with the title in mind, another thought would be this being an early version of Genocide City's theme? Who knows, though...?

  A tad off topic but I heard that they picked the name Genocide City because they thought it sounded cool but didn't know what the word meant and when they found out they changed it.
