It's honestly scary that can just happen, yeah. I feel like I got lucky with my appeal getting replied to so quickly and actually getting my account back, but now I'm imagining whoever else
didn't get their accounts back because this is all automated crap anyways.
The more I think about it the more it boggles my mind. How my channel is just a speck of dust in the ginormous mass that is YouTube, and yet I was apparently such a big threat to their automatic moderation that I was to get wiped out without any warning.
This and Twitter getting banned in Brazil (Hi, I'm Brazilian by the way!) really have shown me how volatile social media is and how I shouldn't attach myself to them so much. Like, seriously, it was kind of liberating having no YouTube for a while so I can actually rest my brain for a little bit.
So uh... hey, word of advise. Think of all the time you're wasting watching videos and not, say, updating a big thread you have on this forum. (Totally not guilty of that.)
