Quote:They say thereundefineds no smoke without fire. I will say that it has been suggested to me from very trusted, proven sources that Microsoft has been exploring bringing some of its back catalog to other platforms, although some of the details remain vague and unconfirmed. We undefinedve reached out to Microsoft to comment and clarify its position on this stuff.https://www.windowscentral.com/gaming/xb...-the-truth

Microsoft has never really been able to compete with Sony in the hardware race, outside of the Xbox 360. Wonder how long it will be until everyone in the business ditches hardware altogether and goes to streaming and cloud gaming. As someone who has spent almost their whole life collecting physical games for a ton of systems, it's sad to see the console race dying, but time marches on I guess.

When gaming becomes streaming only, that's when I stop modern gaming and just completely stick to retro gaming.Yeah but for how long was more what I was getting at. I don't expect Sony or Nintendo to abandon hardware this or even next generation, but hardware is expensive to produce, and if companies see streaming as a more profitable option, they'll make a shift toward that. I don't think we'll have to worry about it for at least a little while longer, but when it comes, it will catch a lot of people by surprise, and I'm in same camp. Once it goes to all streaming, I'm diving even further into my back catalog.
