  Alright....this one is inevitable so I might as well get it over with. Here is the thread to discuss the controversial Sonic villain, Infinite.
  
  
  
  Who is Infinite?
  Infinite (also referred to as Zero in the original drafts of Sonic Forces) is a male jackal who was the leader of the Jackal Squad, a group of mercenaries made up of jackals. He was referred to as the ultimate mercenary. When the squad was attempting to steal the Phantom Ruby from Eggman for profit, Infinite accidentally slashes the ruby with his sword and gets a vision of his deepest desire, a destroyed world. He joins Eggman and becomes the leader of Eggman's army. Later, Shadow is attacking one of Eggman's facilities, and the jackal squad attempts to stop him but to no avail. Infinite then takes on Shadow himself but is quickly defeated by the black hedgehog. After being insulted by Shadow, he is outraged by his fear of fighting him and how weak he was against him. He then gave up his past self to become Infinite. He first debuted in Sonic Forces. 
  
  What can he do?
  Thanks to the Phantom Ruby, Infinite is capable of causing illusions that not only seem real but feel real. His speed is also enhanced making him faster than Sonic. He can fly and manipulate space. As part of the Jackal Squad, he is familiar with using a sword.
  
  Theme Song?
  His theme song in Sonic Forces is simply called "Infinite."

  I like Infinite! He has one of the coolest character designs of all time. I especially love him unmasked. He looks tough but also kinda floofy and cute tbh lol. I do wish Sonic Forces had done a better job portraying him as a credible threat, and it's really unclear what happened to the guy, but I hope we see him in a future game soon so his character can hopefully be fleshed out more. That theme song of his really slaps, and we need more of that too.

  So, Infinite has now made an appearance in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle after four years. So that's neat!
  
  But also, the Sonic Encyclospeedia book came out for a few people (mine was delayed till January) but one of the pages said this:     
  
  So, I don't think Infinite will be making a return, unfortunately.
