  I was just reading an article about a Switch emulator that is pretty close to running games perfectly. Mario Odyssey runs at 50-60 FPS. That’s pretty crazy for so soon into it’s lifecycle even if it isn’t as powerful as other consoles but it’s surprising because we don’t even have a good PS3 emulator yet. 
  
  I have to say it doesn’t really sit well with me. Developers and Nintendo deserve compensation for what they do. This really can only hurt the system. Now 10 years from now? Sure I’d be fine with it.

  If there's no profit to be made from the game anymore or you own a copy already, I am 100% perfectly okay with emulation. Like, I have a ton of GameCube and Wii games on Dolphin right now. Some of them from developers/publishers like THQ that aren't around anymore. Some of them for games like the Spongebob Movie game where the license most definitely isn't their's anymore.
  
  Nobody would see any profit from those if I bought them off eBay, so I don't see the harm in emulating them. Nintendo sure isn't going to be selling Battle for Bikini Bottom anytime soon, so areas like that are definitely safe, or at the very least they should be.
  
  Current stuff that you could go out and buy right now like the Switch however? That doesn't sit so great with me, either.

  I don't have the money to buy a whole new game system and while I agree that if people have the money for a switch they should buy one but I think a switch emulator is great for those who don't have much cash to spend.
  
  I'd like a switch emulator for xbox one.

  For me emulators of modern consoles is a good thing.
  Console exclusives only hurt consumers and consoles cost a lot of money for the hardware they offer.
  The switch is a glorified tablet, the PS4 and XBox one have old outdated hardware.
  I rather have one system to rule them all and that is the PC.
  When you add up the costs of all these consoles (even the pre owned ones) the pay to play online nonsense and the cost of new games and lack of steam sales consoles no longer have an appeal to me.
