For me, it all started in 2002 when I got the Sonic Mega Collection for GameCube. I played through all the classic Sonic games on that disk and fell in love with the series from there. Later on, I got the Adventure games and right around that time Sonic X started appearing on TV, and my little 9 or 10 year old self thought it was really cool that Sonic had a TV show. Curious how all of you started on your Sonic fan journey. -

Weirdly enough, I can't recall ever discovering Sonic, no matter how far back in my memories I go, I just always knew the hedgehog. I may not have known much about the franchise in general, but I always recognized that blue spiky look as Sonic. I still remember even the youngest version of myself still having printed out papers of Sonic stock art glued to my bedroom walls as makeshift posters. You could very much say I was born a Sonic fan.
Though most of my Sonic consumption back then was through old Flash animations and games. Amy's Revenge being a notable one I used to watch a lot. Those Super Amy sprite edits often used in the Flash animations make me super nostalgic from a time where Amy going super was a big deal, and overall Sonic being portrayed with over-the-top shonen anime fighting and crazy transformations. Those were the times. -

sonic the hedgehog has always been a constant in my life, my mom owned a genesis w/ sonic 1 and my childhood friend had a model 2 with sonic 2 which we would play together all the time
eventually when SADX and SA2B released for the gamecube my mom bought me those games along w/ sonic mega collection and I was obsessed with how I could just play so many sonic games on one console. mega collection also introduced me to the archie comics and universe w/ the covers in the extras menu, it almost felt surreal seeing how much sonic content there was, which then led me into getting into the shows like satam & aosth
it really is a lot of things coming all together at once when I look back on it...
