  Have you watched his other show Kitchen Nightmares? I watched a ton of that while it was on Netflix.

  Oh cool I may check it out again. In Kitchen Nightmares Gordon Ramsey goes to struggling restaurants, tries their food, and helps whip them into shape. Some of them are atrocious! One restaurant he went to microwaved most of their food. I remember one used disgusting expired food. It’s pretty interesting.

  I used to think that Gordon Ramsay was just an *****, but after seeing how sweet and encouraging he is to kids learning to cook, it's very clear that he's simply passionate about food. I respect that, honestly; if someone wants to call themselves a chef then they should hold themselves to the standards of a great one, I suppose.
  
  That said, I have seen some of his show, and I imagine the stress must make it a hell of a lot more difficult to produce something good. I definitely couldn't do reality TV like that.

  I felt the same as well, really disliked the guy. Then I saw how nice he is, it's just in the kitchen when things are hectic that he's an *****. I enjoy watching the kids show he has because it's just more calming to watch.

  I remember when I used to binge Hell's Kitchen episodes. It was a pretty entertaining show albeit meanspirited, the depth of which was concerning due to some things I heard about the alleged emotional state of some participants after being booted from the show that can tend more extreme than what is shown on camera.
  
  Personally I far prefer Kitchen Nightmares as I do enjoy Gordon's personality, but I think that show at least tries to accomplish something more constructive. Of course, being "reality" TV there's always the question of how much of everything is fake and scripted, but I follow a blog that does a pretty good job of researching and following up on featured restaurants after their episodes. It's satisfying to see people with dangerously lacking safety and cleanliness practices getting told off, and even more satisfying to see passionate and hard-working people receive help, support and encouragement that they deserve.
  
  That being said, one of my favorite aspects of Kitchen Nightmares is just the cultural and travel-esque aesthetic: especially during a time where travelling in real life is difficult, it's relaxing and nostalgic to see varied sights and locations exemplified through the restaurants and their cities featured on the show.

  @ in Kitchen Nightmares you should watch the episode about Amy's Baking Company. It's the only one where he actually walks out and gives up on them.
