I just discovered a site called http://RomsMania.com and they haven't been hit by copyright yet, if there games you missed out on but want to play then go there for all your rom needs.
I was very excided when I found it and now I have it book marked, check it out and tell me what you think of that site. -

The site got updated which means the roms in the link don't work anymore so ignore RomsMania url and use their new rebranded site called http://Emulator.Games/ for all your gaming needs.

Awesome! There should always be an outlet for people who can't afford to buy many games but who want to play them, and this one seems to deliver on that, which is very nice to see

If it’s games that are no longer being sold I’m cool with it but just being poor doesn’t give the right to piracy imo. Developers who work hard deserve compensation. -

That's what I meant; some older games that have been out of print for a while now are really expensive, so emulation is a great way to experience those games. If you want to play Dragon Quest VII but don't have a 3DS, it's gonna cost you.
EDIT: I suppose a better example would be something like Mega Man Legends 2. I totally agree with your main point; if it's a game you could easily go out and buy right now like Gen 7 Pokemon, you really shouldn't emulate it. But I don't have a problem with people emulating older games if they don't have the sometimes hundreds of dollars it can cost to pick up a used copy. Klonoa: Door to Phantomile is another example, but I suppose there is also the Wii port. -

I kinda doubt this will last long though. If all of the big ones are going down, how long till this gets hit? Who knows. I only use Sonic roms anyway and already have those but it’s annoying on PC because there’s no quick way to hook it to my TV and pair a controller. -

I use HDMI and my DualShock 4. Works like a charm and is easy as hell. I seem to remember you telling me your PC runs Linux but if not you can download DS4Windows. -

Still a pain in the butt because it can’t stay under the TV and I have to unplug a device to plug the laptop in. I’ll try DS4Windows though. My desktop is Linux but laptop is Windows10. -

If you have an xbox one then buy the xbrowse app for $14 since it has all the emulators I mentioned, to go to the emulator menue hold the left and right triggers at the same time.
