Super Sonic is Sonic's ultimate form once he gathers all seven chaos emeralds. Who is Fleetway Super Sonic?After the events of the first Sonic the Hedgehog game, Sonic absorbed the chaos energy from the chaos emeralds and transformed into Super Sonic. First appearing in issue seven of Sonic the Comic published by Fleetway Publications, he is extremely aggressive and has a sadistic sense of humor. His psychotic nature makes him extremely dangerous and is typically a last resort for the blue hedgehog. Sonic will only transform into this form when he is under high levels of stress or when he is in contact with chaos energy like the Master Emerald. At some point, Sonic and the chaos energy became separated and it was sent into the Special Zone. The energy was given its own form as Super Sonic.
What can he do?Since he is chaos energy, he has multiple abilities. He can fly at very high speeds, has super strength, shoot energy beams from his eyes, drain energy from other people, create explosions, and is practically invulnerable.

I think it's really interesting that they went with him being kinda a maniac! lol I'm really intrigued by this series now. I grew up with Archie being from America but Fleetway seems like it would be cool to get into. Again really odd take on Super Sonic but it does make sense.... -

In the Fleetway Comics, Sonic's origin story is similar to that of the Sonic Bible in which he used to be an ordinary hedgehog. Ovi Kintobor wanted to get rid of the evil of the world and stored it into the chaos emeralds if I remember correctly. During the experiments, Sonic turned from brown to blue and gained super speed. I can't remember how, however. Later, an incident happens where Kintober makes contact with the chaotic energy along with a rotten egg and becomes Ivo Robotnik. With the context that the chaos emeralds contain evil energy, it does make sense that Super is a chaotic maniac. -

One other thing I want to mention about the Fleetway Comics is Sonic's personality. One of the complaints I sometimes see about the OVA is that Sonic is a bit of a jerk in that one. Ohh!!! I love fleetway sonic so much. I got to read bits and pieces of it lately, and Honestly the characterization is just so well done for everyone. A lot of people seem to think sonic is just a big time jerk, but there's definitely more to him than just the mean jabs he throws at everyone. There's a really well done video by Johnny Vector that explains Sonic's personality in the comic.

I never got to read these because they were from Britain but looking at them I do like the different take on Sonic, even the crazy Super Sonic drunk with power. Haha They even alluded to this in the second movie as an easter egg but he turned out to be the same as his normal self. -

I always like to wonder what would happen if sonic went hyper in the Fleetway comics.
(I have no idea if the super emeralds exist in the fleetway comics bc I've never had the chance to read them)
