My favorite will probably always be Pokemon Crystal, I wasn't much of a gaming kid around the time I got that. Basically we had Crystal and Silver to split between my little brother and me, he did the pick ahead of me and left me Crystal as the slowpoke's choice.
It was my first single user game I did ever own to that point, and it was around 2006 so we were already like 2 generations slow to the party ! We obviously knew about Pokemon but I never really played till that moment than I recall of.
I still have the cartridge, but it no longer works, the battery dry issue appeared quite a long ago. Last time I did play Crystal though was in my Wii U, a randomized or modified version of it.
The best game ever.
