Here's where you can enjoy some of my short one-shot Sonic the Hedgehog fanfics. None of them are connected, so pick and choose what you'd like to read, in any order. All of them are "general" fanfiction; ship stories will probably go in a different thread.
I tend to write in a simple, lighthearted style. You can expect happy endings, slice of life scenarios, and positive camaraderie.
Below is the index, which I will update each time I add a new story. Click on the title to be taken to the post.

"Agility Training"
Knuckles was glad to have Sonic as his occasional training partner because it was the best way for him to improve one of his greatest weaknesses: his speed. Sure, Knuckles could keep up with the blue hedgehog just fine on an average day, but when it came down to business, his best sprint looked like an afternoon jog in comparison.
One day he invited Sonic to Angel Island, claiming to have come up with a new training regime involving the Master Emerald.
"There's no greater motivation than this," he said, handing it over to Sonic, who staggered underneath its size. "The Master Emerald has been shattered before, but what if next time is by accident? What if it goes over a waterfall or something and I'm not quick enough to catch it?"
"This thing sure is brittle, isn't it?" Sonic said, only half joking.
It was Sonic's job to drop the gem from a certain height and Knuckles' job to grab it before it hit the ground. If he missed or didn't make it in time, Sonic would swoop in with his amazing speed and save it. With enough practice, Knuckles would sharpen his agility.
They started with him only having to run a short distance, then made him back up farther and farther away. Sonic kept a close eye out for when he had to step in.
They trained this way until noon, then took a lunch break. Sonic was eager for a chance to stop. As much as he wanted to help his friend, he admitted that dropping the Master Emerald off a ledge and racing to catch it when necessary wasn't doing much for him. Knuckles argued back—Wasn't it challenging for him to move under stressful circumstances? Sonic didn't think so and couldn't be convinced otherwise.
The sky turned gray when they got back to work. They were both full of energy from eating and didn't notice small droplets of water hitting them until a bolt of lightning flashed in the sky.
Knuckles considered calling it a day, but then pictured a scenario where the Master Emerald was falling from a great height during a storm. What was the point in training only when it was safe? The great jewel could be in danger no matter the time or weather.
The earth beneath his shoes turned moist. He made sure each running step he took was heavy and stable, but this made his number of successful catches drop. Sonic was saving the Master Emerald more times than him now.
The wind grew strong and howled.
"Hey, Sonic!" Knuckles called, his hands cupped around his mouth to make his shouts heard. "Let's head back!"
"What?" Sonic was on a small cliff about to drop the Emerald again, but instinctively raised a hand to his ear to make out what Knuckles was saying. At that moment, the Master Emerald slid out of his grip.
Knuckles saw what happened and gasped. He started running, trying not to panic. If it hit the ground, it would shatter!
Sonic tried racing to the rescue, but slipped and landed face first in the mud.
The Emerald was moments away from crashing. With one last burst of effort, Knuckles took a great leap with his arm outstretched.
He missed.
He landed flat into the wet soil. He glanced up just in time to see his precious Master Emerald collide with the ground...
...It didn't shatter.
Knuckles blinked. Instead of a crash, there was a small splash. The Emerald plopped into the soft mud, which cushioned its fall.
He sighed in relief and let his head lay in the muck. The rain continued to fall.
Sonic ran up, panting, his eyes wide. He saw the undamaged gem and sat next to Knuckles in amazement.
Neither spoke for a few minutes. Then...
"So what were you trying to say to me?"
"Oh, right. I think it's time to call it a day."
"...No."
Knuckles raised a brow and asked, "Why not?"
"Because I messed up and couldn't make it to the Emerald in time. Looks like this training can be a challenge for me, too." Sonic smiled and jumped to his feet. "Come on! Let's go again!"
The rain kept falling, but it didn't stop the two heroes. They were more determined than ever to best each other and prove they were capable of protecting one of the world's most important relics, no matter what nature threw at them.
The End.

"The Water Park"
“Come on, Sonic, you're holding up the line.”
Amy did her best to keep patience in her voice. She, Sonic, and Tails were at the water park. She stood behind him as he held onto the guardrail tightly. It was their turn to go on the river tube ride. It was a long, winding river filled with pool water. Riders were supposed to climb onto a giant floating tube and let the current carry them slowly along the trail. It was the most gentle ride in the park, but Sonic had to make it difficult.
Tails climbed onto his tube first and checked behind him to see his shaken friend looking nervously at the water.
“Just focus on the tube, Sonic,” Amy continued, waiting. “Nice and easy.”
Sonic was glad for his little life jacket. It made him feel safer.
He carefully clambered onto the big donut-shaped tube ring and clung to it like a stressed cat with its claws out. His breath came in deep, quick puffs.
Amy climbed onto a tube after him.
They floated along peacefully with the other riders. The sun was bright and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Eventually, Sonic relaxed.
Tails and Amy had saved up enough Rings together to buy three tickets to the water park. Summer would end soon and they hadn't done anything fun together as a group that didn't involve fighting Eggman and his robots. Sonic explained that running in the summer was plenty fun, but Amy claimed none of that counted as a proper day off and Tails worried about him getting heat stroke.
“So I'll wear sunscreen,” Sonic said, but they had made their decision and already bought the tickets. He tried to weasel his way out, saying they should invite Knuckles instead, but Amy finally got him to go along by promising he would only have to do non-swimming activities and he'd be rewarded with ice cream and chili dogs.
They knew he hated water, but the amusement park would cool him off and besides, it was a great place to have a small vacation.
The river ride finished without any trouble. Amy even caught Sonic dangling his fingers in the water and using the tips to make tiny splashes.
Sonic asked if he could snooze on a lounge chair now, but there were two more attractions they wanted him to try first. He was surprised there were different ways to have fun at a water park without any swimming.
They walked over to their next stop: the splash fountain. It was a wet and large area that had a bunch of holes and spouts in the ground. Every so often, randomly, jets of water sprayed up. There were lots of children here running and laughing.
While the splash pad wasn't exactly a ride, it was entertaining. Amy sighed and had a romantic look on her face. If they came later in the evening, the water would dance in different colors and there'd be lights all around.
Sonic watched everyone else for a minute and was about to run forward, but Tails pointed at his life jacket. “You know you don't need to wear that here, right? There's no way you can drown.”
Sonic felt sheepish. “I knew that.” He removed the vest and got into a running position.
He studied the pattern of the water spurts, then ran at just the right time. He dodged ten streams in a row and skidded to a halt. Not a drop on him.
A few kids noticed and watched him. Sonic jumped, dodged, Spin Dashed, and weaved between the water. When he finished, he was greeted with applause.
He bowed. His eyes were closed, so he didn't see Amy approach him. She elbowed him at just the right moment so that the next gush of water drenched him.
Sonic coughed and growled, but not for long. He did admit the coolness felt good.
The next ride was a tall, enormous water slide. It was a popular attraction, so the line for it was very long.
Sonic was nervous. Technically, the slide itself didn't involve any swimming, but riders ended up dunked into a pool.
Luckily, he had his trusty life vest to keep him safe.
Hey, wait a second... Where was his life vest? He had it on a minute ago. Then he remembered he'd taken it off at the splash fountain.
He told Amy and Tails he'd be right back. Amy yelled after him that they'd save his spot, but he better not be running away. She was willing to make them all stand in line again if he made them miss their turn.
Sonic ran back to the splash pad area. He looked all over, but couldn't find it. Maybe he should check at the lost and found.
He started heading in that direction when he noticed a human child staring at him. The kid was holding his life jacket!
Sonic was relieved. He started walking to the boy to thank him, but then the child smiled mischievously and took off running.
“Hey!”
Sonic chased after him. Being the fastest thing alive, he caught up easily, but not before the boy found his mother and clung to her legs.
“Look, Mom, it's Sonic!”
The mother's eyes widened excitedly. She said they were big fans of his and asked for an autograph. Sonic laughed nervously, then turned serious. He'd do it, but only after the kid gave his life vest back.
The mother scolded her child for stealing but the kid insisted, “Finders, keepers” and claimed he wouldn't have gotten the famous hedgehog's attention otherwise.
Sonic explained how his friends were waiting for him at the water slide and he couldn't go on the ride without the life jacket.
The boy was shocked. Surely someone like Sonic would be brave enough to go down a water slide without it.
But that was precisely why he needed it. It helped him to face his fear, and he didn't want to let his friends down.
So the boy relented and returned it. The two humans got their autograph and waved goodbye, telling him to have fun.
Sonic put on his life jacket and ran back to Tails and Amy. It was almost their turn.
His pulse raced, but he knew it would be over with soon enough. Tails slid down first, and Amy gently coaxed Sonic like she did at the lazy river ride. “I'll be right behind you,” she said.
He thought it was just an expression, but she wasn't kidding. He swore he felt a bit of her feet on him now and then as he closed his eyes and slid down.
It was wet and scary, but fast enough to be done quickly. He hated when he sunk into the pool for a few brief moments, but trusted his life vest to do its job. He floated back up to sweet air and Amy helped him wade back to solid ground.
His friends congratulated him and decided a reward was in order.
This was the most fun part for Sonic. They bought ice cream and chili dogs and lounged on pool chairs under the sun.
Sonic didn't have to go on any more rides and best of all, Amy and Tails had to keep him company for half an hour. He had to do things their way all day; now it was their turn to do it his way, since they couldn't go swimming right after eating.
He enjoyed relaxing so much that he forgot to remove his life vest. This time, no one told him about it. They wanted to see how long it would take him to notice and the look on his face when he did made them laugh.
All in all, it was a successful summer day.
The End.

Sorry for the late response. I love how wholesome this story is. My favorite part was the splash pad with Amy being a bit of a troll and making Sonic wet .
