  I may be weird in this but I prefer the mix of animation and live action to completely animated like Mario. It gives it more life.

  Never really cared much for the human characters myself, outside of Robotnik and GUN obviously. I agree that the whole wedding sequence felt totally out of place. Like the entire time, I was just thinking to myself "can we get back to Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles?" Honestly, that's why I liked the second movie much better than the first one. The first one felt like a weird fan-fiction to me, like "hey what would happen if Sonic came to Earth," whereas the second movie I felt like focused more on the characters we actually came to see and felt like a movie actually based on the games. Honestly, I just like seeing my favorite characters pal around, be funny, and save the day. The human characters: meh, I could take them or leave them.

  Can't say I'd be upset if they eliminated some of the human scenes. I felt like they were mostly unnecessary.
  Not that I didn't enjoy them, but they felt like they belonged in a different movie entirely.
  I don't mind humans getting maybe 5 minutes of screen time...unless they're necessary to the actual plot like Robotnik. Robotnik is really the only human who should be there for the duration as he's an important character and the foil to Sonic. The only exceptions would be Gerald and Maria, who are part of Robotnik and Shadow's backstory.
  So yeah, only the necessary humans should get more than like, 5 minutes of screen time.
