I sort of miss the days of posters myself, but as an adult, they just feel a little silly to have plastered everywhere. However, my get-around from that is that I buy those cheap frames at either Walmart or Target, the ones that look nice but are nothing of high quality, and I put any posters I may want up in those to make them look more like fancy wall decor. hehe -

Yeah that's the way to do it now days. I used to just scotch tape posters up. lol I really loved the magazines that had demos in them. PlayStation magazine had them and so did Sega magazines, I believe, as well as Xbox magazine. It was always one of the best parts, I discovered many games from those demos provided by the magazines. -

Growing up I think my brother's father was the one who acquired most demo discs for us from magazines and I never quite got my hands on them in my teenage years, but yes I do recall seeing that and it is a feature I deeply miss.
Also, scotch tape posters oof, the memories of peeling tape off the walls hehe -

Seeing Nintendo Power mentioned, I still have two issues thanks to a free offer that came with one of my Nintendo games. They were from fall 2006. A few things that stand out to me, one issue had Pokemon on the cover, and even had a Pokemon manga inside of it. It also had a preview to the then upcoming GBA version of Sonic 1, and had a lot of Wii information in it. I remember in both of these issues, the top 10 games had the game based off Disney/Pixar's Cars as the best selling game. I think one of them had tips to Star Fox Command and a feature on DS single card multiplayer games.
Glad I never got rid of them since I don't really see gaming magazines anymore, aside from the odd issue of PC Gamer at my local supermarket. -

Oh, I think I remember those issues! That was back in the day when they still did the top...5 games I think? I remember one issue when Dora the Explorer: Super Spies for the GBA was number 1, I kid you not.
Speaking of gaming mags, I've been on a nostalgic kick for gaming ads, mainly late '90s ones. This one article in my news feed really caught my eye and brought me back to the Console Wars of the late '90s.
The best part? It was a promo for Final Fantasy VII.
And upon seeing that one, I did some digging and found more like it.
And last but not least....
Man, Sony and Square knew how to sell a game! -

Really surprised that a Dora the Explorer game was number 1 on the charts in an issue. I was someone who did get Cars on GameCube, and honestly I thought it was a pretty fun racer, even if it's based off the movie. I could see why it was popular, aside from the then new movie. Those ads are great, that reminds me, the other issue had Final Fantasy III on the cover. The DS remake. -

I got Cars 3 on PS4, surprisingly decent! -

I still have a stack of old Nintendo Power magazines around the N64 era and a few Dreamcast magazines. There was nothing like cracking open an issue after E3 and seeing all of the new games announced. -
