Essentially, if you build a team, combine this somehow with version control, you basically have, the power, in your hands to remake Sonic Adventure without SEGA or SONIC TEAM.

Nor do you have the burden of a steep learning curve to learn OpenGL, and other 3D graphics APIs
The above statement is the reason why my creativity has had such a damper whenever the thought of producing gaming content came to mind.
It takes literally YEARS OF EFFORT to get somewhere to start creating something. After 10 years as a programmer I only now consider myself proficient to work on a real game's code. And now I am at base one again because there's a whole new load of stuff to learn. Game engine API, OpenGL API, and the underlying runtime library of Microsoft Visual C++. Urgh! No thanks!
The games are rough, the music is not cool, but that's to be expected.

This is also probably a very significant point in the history of gaming. I sincerely hope its not all fake. The longterm goal is they want to eventually allow people to sell the games they create within the game so obviously any copyrighted stuff like Sonic games won't work but when they get that going it'll be interesting to see what happens. It essentially allows you to create games that wouldn't be created otherwise because of market trends, etc.
This kind of thing would render the long development cycles of games obsolete. This is doing for games what Golang did for systems software!!

Sonic's 3D model, is available all over the 'net now. I started seeing models of increasing quality floating around the 'net since at least 2012
