A heritage game based on cut levels?

I’ve been thinking about how often Sega keeps reusing old levels. It was awesome in Generations but then they just kept doing it to the point that it’s very tiresome now.
But I was thinking if they don’t want to make another game with all original levels what would be a good idea that puts a twist on that?
How about cut levels that never released due to time constraints or other issues? It would be cool to see a game like Generations that has levels like Wood Zone, Dust Hill, and many of the other known(and unknown) levels that didn’t make it in time for release.
Maybe call it, “Sonic Generations: The Lost Levels” or something? This will obviously never happen but let us know if you a) like the idea or b) would go a different direction in making a new game.
