  Reading metallixs topic about being wrongfully permabanned I got to thinking, what does every one prefer? Physical games or digital?
  
  I have a mix. Digital is convenient because you buy it and download right away. But you're just buying a license for the software and not actually owning the software. What do you prefer?

  Physical. While you are able to lose it after a while, and it'll stop working, it's a great alternative to digital when the games somehow dissapear.

  I love physical media. It's a great way to ensure software can be archived properly and truly, even when servers are long gone.

  Physical for me, I really miss big box PC games. A time where your game just had a code to enter to install it and didn't need any launcher like Steam.

  Digital is way better for me. I don't have a lot of space in my tiny apartment so the less game boxes I have it just saves me room for other needed space.

  Yeah I can see why that would be good, if you have a lot of games and no space. I'd still want physical though.

  I generally prefer physical copies for my games since I like fully owning them, but as of late I've been finding myself buying digital titles more often than I used to. 
  
  There's been a lot of really good sales on digital stores lately that I felt were too good to pass up for the price.

  Each side has its own ups and downs, really.
  
  Recently, I misplaced my cartridge of Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice. Now it's gone. If it were digital, that wouldn't be an issue.
  
  On the other hand, when you buy stuff digitally, you kind of live under the assumption that it can be taken away from you quite easily. Recently, there was a situation where Playstation lost the distribution rights to some movies they sold digitally. So, what did they do? They took the movies away from the people who paid for them, and didn't offer any refunds.

  Oh man @ that's a bummer about the cartridge. As far as the movies on PSN, it really wasn't Sony's fault it was the movie studios that revoked their content. Well maybe to a degree it was Sony, they should have never allowed a contract on their service that allowed for the removal of content under any circumstance. Although I don't know how those contracts work. I do know Time Warner fixed the problem and previous purchasers can keep their stuff.
  
  But that does bring us back to the point that any digital content can be revoked in a snap. I wasn't going to restart buying games on PSN if my account had actually been permabanned.
