Hey everyone!
First off, I know. It's been a rather hot minute since I've been here last. There's some loose ends that I need to tie up here, I'm well aware.
But right now, I'm helping my distant friend spread the word about his current endeavor.
Introducing....
"QuarterCade? What's that?" I hear you ask. Well slow your rolls cowboys and girls, I'm getting to that. But first, imagine this:
You want to play any kind of game you set your eyes on - current, classic, any kind.
However, that's not so easy, is it? With today's gaming landscape being subscriptions this, high prices and tariffs that. What's a gamer on a budget to do nowadays? Have these AAA video game companies COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN about us, the little people who can't afford the latest and greatest things they put out?
Well, my distant friend seems to have worked out a solution.
Enter The QuarterCade.
The QuarterCade is a Game Console/PC Hybrid that's able to play literally any game, from modern blockbusters like
Final Fantasy VII Remake, Indies like
Hollow Knight and its sequel
Hollow Knight: Silksong, timeless classics like my friend's all-time favorite games,
Phantasy Star: Blue Burst and
Phantasy Star Universe (yeah, he's a HUGE fan of that series - and for those of you that may or may not remember, he's the very same friend of mine that's actually working on a Beat-em-up called
Astraverse, which is inspired by Phantasy Star!) and free-to-play favorites such as
Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Apex Legends, League of Legends, and so much more without any of those pricey online subscriptions or proprietary accessories or any unnecessary hoops to jump through.
Best of all, the controllers you'll be using for this console are....your own! The QuarterCade is compatible with your favorite USB or Bluetooth controllers.
These videos by my friend will explain a little more about it all.
Right now, we're preparing to launch this on Indiegogo, on October 21st. The link for that is right through
here!
If you want more info on The QuarterCade, you can find that through
here!
He's been developing this in his free time, and believes this will bridge the ever-widening gap between us, the gamers on a budget and the games we
want to play but just can't due to not enough money or exclusivity (or in this case, a brand new console!)
The QuarterCade. Expansive gaming without the Expensive price.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Any questions?
