I got two of note I've been playing on repeat lately.
This one's from Vinesauce Vinny's band (you may know him for the SPEEN! meme), and it's the current song I'm constantly replaying on Spotify.
It's one of those songs you get a music video in your head while listening to it, y'know. I like how the lyrics are a mix of humorous and depressing descriptions of desperation in a desolate city (which happens to be New York) which is so bad not even the rats can stand living in it. It's like managing to findamusement while living under terrible living conditions.
... Or so was what I thought the song was about. I mainly listen to songs on Spotify so I wasn't aware of the
music video on Youtube, which revealed to me that the song was about literal rats and just trashing on NYC as an April Fools joke. It's amazing how drastically a song can change in tone in just the interpretation.
Another song I've been listening to is Selena's stage theme from Panel de Pon, this obscure little Super Famicom game I've been playing lately which is the game Tetris Attack is a reskin of. It was a Japan exclusive, but it had a fan translation in 2007.
The song itself is a simple tune, a little repetitive even, but something about it is so pleasant to me. Gets me right in the thinking mood for a puzzle game, maybe it's the soundfont.
