YES--do it again, it's so fun, and ABSOLUTELY a skill that can be revived! One thing that I can say offered a break in my style was using base shapes. It helps you gauge the proportions of the character and give something to start with/adjust easily before you detail everything out. (though I'm still learning as I experiment with styles and can tweak the way I approach things)

I will definitely work my way back to reviving the skill once again. I know it's hibernating down there somewhere, with much determination, there's a very good chance to bring it right back up to speed.
