ProtoBusterSwordGenesis Detective Agency: The Battle for Castle Sol (OOC Thread) The official OOC thread for GDA: BfCS!

I mean... maaaaaybe it's not absolutely necessary, but considering most of the main characters are OCs, some character profiles might be helpful to those not familiar with this setting, as well as an Out-Of-Character thread to discuss some events. Maybe THIS could be that OOC thread, so we don't have to create another one? But in that case, the name should be changed...

Yup, yup! I'll do that. Also working on the character thread!

So, do you need anything? Like, some helping hand?

So, before the game continues, I just wanted to ask both of you a couple of things:
To @ProtoBusterSword how much power do your OCs have? Like, Seg can copy abilities by touching people or stuff, but for how long does Seg have to keep contact? Also, I get how he gets powers from other people with superpowers, but how does it work with "things"?

To @Count Drakupo we haven't talked about Nega and Bedlam, like, do they already know each other? I'm assuming they do and that Bedlam is Eggman Nega's secret weapon for the assault on Castle Sol

Yeah, that's pretty much the assumption I'm working with; I may need to reread the character list but I figured Proto's controlling Bedlam?

EDIT: Reread the list, so now I know you've got Bedlam. Still, point of narrative stands, I figure Nega's already discovered/recruited Bedlam, so you're good to go.

Ok, for that nuance of Seg's ability, I'd say that it's usually a few seconds for the chaos energy to activate for Seg to emulate.

For "things" I mean inanimate objects. For those, he gets the attributes of that thing in particular. For example, if he touches a stone wall, he gets the hardness of the stone itself, making him heavier and slower, but more rugged.

Cool, I also thought Nega and Bedlam already went through the "mad scientist meets magical force of nature". That'll make things easier.
And yeah, Bedlam's my OC. Kind of. She's just the Blaze prototype design with a background similar to Chaos.

Good to know. It's a pretty useful and potentially powerful skill, not gonna lie. Still, there might be some things Seg couldn't touch...? Like, dunno, acid? Fire? Boiling oil??

And you're so right on that! Seg would have to be dumb to try and touch those kinds of things! Totally untouchable and thus unable to be emulated.

EDIT 6/13/22: HOWEVER! That's not to say that the SOURCE of the thing Seg is trying to emulate is off the table. If Seg were to emulate a Battery or a source of light he will have a Spark (electrity) form. If Seg were to emulate a torch (like an actual torch) he will have a Flame form. There's many things Seg can emulate, but he'll have to find the source of the element he wishes to take on.
