My dad took me to the store and bought me Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - I thought the box art looked cool and I recognized the main character from the flash game I played. I fell in love with the game and the music. I've played it a whole lot as a kid, my dad got me Sonic Heroes and some others too down the line, but I never liked those games as much as I liked Sonic Adventure 2 so I ended up losing interest during most of my middle school years. As I am a girl, gaming was more of a secret hobby of mine.
Years later when I frequented message boards and forums more often in my spare time, I made an account on the SEGA of America boards, which kinda rekindled my love for the franchise and I "officially" joined the fandom. I'd say with me joining this forum as a kid really helped me love Sonic more as well
