hello! my dearest friend @ invited me here because they mentioned having a really nice time on the forums being able to talk about sonic!!! as someone who missed out on the forums boom back in the 2000s due to how i was raised, i figure i may as well join and hopefully be active in this one. sorry for being a millennial it'll happen again
i've been a fan of sonic for a few years now. i'm not the best at video games so i haven't personally played too many sonic games. it's definitely a learning curve regardless of whether you're playing 2d or 3d sonic! i grew up playing things like crash bandicoot, spyro, ratchet and clank, and jak and daxter instead. i think there's a pattern here. somewhere.
my first sonic game was either heroes or riders on the PS2. i don't remember for sure, but i do have both of them. never finished either of them though. it's the then undiagnosed adhd, it's super hard to finish anything that's not books. i'm sure some of you understand haha
currently i'm watching a mutual friend of mine and hooligan's play sa2b on pc. chao garden end game. and maybe a rank some stages along the way
some other things i like are final fantasy (yes i play ffxiv, yes i have an illness), type moon, some fighting games... really into honkai impact 3rd and honkai star rail too.
since this is a sonic forum, maybe y'all could tell me your favourite sonic fact? can be serious, funny/silly, about lost media, glitches, secrets, shared voice actors, generally anything you'd find in a trivia section basically! i love odd and funny facts about things i like. -

Welcome to the forum! I am NeoMetallix. Metallic is a name given to Metal Sonic in the comic series and Neo means new like Neo Metal Sonic which is my favorite version of Metal Sonic. He was from Heroes, I'm sure you remember.
It's not a Sonic fact but one Sega fact that blew me away is that they started out as an American company. I never knew that and thought they were always Japanese. -

I'm glad my talking abt it was interesting enough that you wanted to check it out and sign up! there's all kinds of discussion on here whether abt sonic or even off-topic stuff and it's a much more easy going environment on here compared to social media which is really nice
if there's anything you don't know you can always check out the threads in the information portal for possible answers, there's also an obscure questions thread for other oddities, and ofc you can always just pm me for help too!

GREAT starter on your Sonic journey with Riders, by the way, that's one of my absolute favorite Sonic games.
As for Sonic facts, uh...
In 2005, near the release of Shadow the Hedgehog for Playstation 2 and Gamecube, 1UP did an interview with Shadow the Hedgehog himself.
In said interview Shadow reveals his favorite games include Madden's footbal series, "anything with street fighting", and Burnout 3. He owns a PSP, Nintendo DS, and a Razor cell phone. And that his favorite foods are pizza, Doritos and Snickers.

that's such a cool username. a friend of mine likes metal sonic!!!! so i think of him when i see metal sonic.
i knew that about sega! it's insane to read that it started as an american company. -

hehe thank you for the welcome! i could not beat babylon gardens in story mode for the life of me. and then when i finally had help in doing it, i got stuck at the alt canyon stage. it was awful. video games.
i've never seen this interview before.... i guess you could give him a snickers and go "you're not you when you're hungry, shadow" and the thought is killing me. it's so funny. -
