Aside from Sonic, there are two games coming out pretty soon that I'm itching to play. The new Super Monkey Ball (SMB 1 and 2 are some of my favorite GameCube games, and I'm hoping this one is a return to form for the series) and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I own the original and I have so many fond memories tied to that game. The story, the characters, the gameplay, it was all just so magical. I'd say why hasn't Nintendo tried to top it, but honestly, I don't know if it can be. Any games you looking forward to?

I shouldn't be surprised but I'm excited to hear someone else likes Super Monkey Ball! easily one of my favourite Gamecube games too and I frequently come back to it, I'm really excited for the spindash-like mechanic they're adding to the new game rather than continuing w/ jumping Idea

games I'm looking forward to are Sonic x Shadow Generations ofc, and AntonBlast! AntonBlast is a platformer inspired by Crash Bandicoot and Crash Team Racing and focuses on wrecking havoc through stages, there's also some Wario Land inspiration w/ exiting a stage under a time limit at the end, Pizza Tower also does the same! I've been following the game for a while but missed out on the Kickstarter unfortunately, but a new demo came out recently and was announced to also be coming out on Switch! it's scheduled for November this year Smile

I'm definitely getting some Crash vibes, especially from the voice at the end. He sounds just like the voice that yells "Crash Bandicoot WARRPPPPED!"

Oh man, I've been waiting on Antonblast since the start. I friggin' love the original Antonball. People unfortunately don't talk as much about Antonball though, even though that is the first Anton game.

As for my most anticipated game, right now it's DoubleShake by Rightstick Studios.

It is very much inspired by old-school N64/PS1 platformers like Klonoa and Mischief Makers. It combines the Mischief Makers grabbing and shaking mechanic with being able to throw and boost off of grabbed object and enemies like Klonoa, along with tons of collectibles and crafting. From what I could gather from the short demo, it's very open of a game, and one of those where it's just fun using the movement mechanics to traverse the big levels. The playable character is also very cute and you can even pet the dogs!

It should be coming sometime this year as well, so maybe we'll get a double-feature with the DoubleShake and AntonBlast releases.

Side-note, Rightstick Studio's other game, Wonder Wickets, recently had it's price dropped to absolutely free! They didn't make an announcement for it or anything, but it was supposedly made freeware since the devs found that they got their money's worth out of it and decided to make it available for people who couldn't get it before, what with them already having a new game on the way and all. How nice! Heart

oh wow! I'm actually really happy to see smth inspired by Klonoa, as the lead of AntonBlast said (roughly) "everyone is making Sonic-inspired games, and that's not a bad thing, but it's nice to see more" and I totally agree after posting AntonBlast and seeing this trailer, I also never realized how many Sonic-like indie games there were until I heard him say that and it's finally starting to open my eyes

I never got to play Mischief Makers but I'm totally seeing the Klonoa resemblance and it's awesome, especially since I recently finished Klonoa 2 and actually felt underwhelmed by the challenge towards the end of the game and really wanted more, so this will easily fill the Klonoa-shaped hole in my heart... the little pigtails also look like Klonoa ears in design which is a really sweet touch Heart

I'll have to take a look at Wonder Wickets, it's really nice of the devs to change its price to free that's so sweet of them

I'm hoping for a new Sonic the Fighters game. Hooligan Versus Chaotix would be awesome, change my mind!

oh I forgot abt Dream BBQ! I was really excited for it when it announced and then after Power of Potluck came out I became focused on irl stuff and Dream BBQ left my mind, apparently it's going to release in chapters though, similar to Delatune... I also haven't checked in on Chadtronic in a while either so it's really exciting to hear he's got more projects going on now since he first announced the founding of yojoyco I'll have to check out Broken Reality as well bcuz I'm always interested in vaporwave styled/inspired projects Hmmm

Nothing really that has my eye outside of Sonic. Although anything I would have been interested in already released. It will be pretty interesting if they release Halo on PlayStation though. Microsoft is starting to publish on competing platforms now. Not that I'd be excited but the mind blowingness of it would be like Sonic going to Nintendo in the early 2000s.
