But besides the gameplay, Unleashed is better in every way. While Generations has a ton of good remixes of previous Sonic games, that's all that it had. Unleashed had original music composed by the composer of Sonic '06. Unleashed also had a better story with great human characters and Chip. Generations didn't do much with its characters. I have made reviews for both Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations in Sonic HQ if you are curious to hear more about my opinions on those games.)
Mighty the Armadillo or Ray the Flying Squirrel?
(Those reviews you wrote are absolutely excellent! I love your writing style, the great details, inclusion of images and the fair tone and approach you take to the reviewing process. I don't agree with all of your points but certainly respect and value your opinion! I do definitely agree that Unleashed is overall better than Generations, for many reasons including those you listed being some of the primary ones. I absolutely love the storytelling, world-building and character interactions in Unleashed, with Sonic, Chip, Professor Pickle, Amy, Tails and the NPCs: one of my few complaints is that Unleashed did not utilize more Sonic characters in addition to the NPCs, but I absolutely love the NPCs and their intricate and interconnecting subplots. They add so much critical personality and atmosphere to the game! They are absolutely fantastic. While Generations may be better in some ways on a technical/polish level, I far prefer Unleashed's gameplay, both day stages and night stages. I feel that Unleashed has the best boost-style gameplay out of any main console/3D Sonic game: it has the most complexity and difficulty by far, the highest and most exhilerating speed, and the best, longest and most complex levels. Unleashed's levels are absolute masterpieces. I absolutely love the Werehog gameplay just as much, for different reasons. I think it is extremely underrated, as it provides an excellent balance to the game with its slow-paced platforming, puzzle-like aspects and beat-em-up segments. Not to mention how dearly I love the nighttime aesthetic: having a day/night system adds so much atmosphere and depth of emotion to the game, to the art of storytelling and relation of experience. I have many more thoughts to share, but it's a bit beyond the scope of this post and I'm unfortunately running a bit low on time right now! But in short I really love your reviews, and I'd love to read more reviews you post! Looking forward to reading more news articles and reviews you post.)
I simply can't choose between Mighty and Ray, as I love both so much! They are both so cute, and an essential and inseparable duo (aside from Knuckles Chaotix, although I can head-canon Ray was serving a support-role in the background). I will have to choose Both!
